Well Wishes for Pals Paper Arts

I am sure I am not alone in ditching elements you thought would look great on a card but then decide not to use them. I put all those abandon misfit pieces into a small storage container on my craft table. Then I get this crazy idea that I should do something with some of those abandon pieces. (I am humming in my head the holiday song the island of misfit toys from Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.) Well, this is what I decided to use to create my card for the Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge this week; elements from my misfit container.

Here is the sketch this week. Our hostess is Nicole Watt who is the talented graphic artist behind the Pals Paper Arts badges.

The color combination is Lost Lagoon, Delightful Dijon and Pool Party. I like the color combination however I am not thrilled with the card. I just could not seem to get all the pieces to tie together. I thought I would use it as a Get Well card.

I do hope you will play along with the Pals Paper Arts team this week. It is always fun to challenge yourself to stretch your creativity.

As I was creating my post I really did not like the front of my card. So I pulled the flower off and added a different element. I like it better. What do you think?

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. I like them both, but the second is cleaner and brighter which seem to make me happier. You did good in using up your discarded pieces. Really like the get well font! Where did you get it?

  2. Cute both ways! I love to raid my odds and ends basket on my desk for stuff too!

  3. I actually liked your flower — it ties the ink and mat in, pulls the eye to the sentiment by creating that visual triangle plus I think it’s cute! 🙂 The dots are just plain, imho. But who am I to judge? 🙂 Pull out your glitter pen and give the flower some umph and maybe you’ll like it more?
