Much Love

Stitched Be Mine Stampinpretty Sketchbook Love Card Idea Michelle Gleeson Stampinup SU

I am gradually getting my Valentine cards created. This card was inspired by a sketch by Mary Fish over at Stampin’ Pretty.

I needed a bit of inspiration and the sketch did the trick. The card base is a  standard 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″. The DSP is retired SU Garden Impressions. The heart was cut from Calypso Coral cards stock using the SU Stitched Be Mine dies then mounted on the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. This allowed the stacked banners to slip under the heart.

The sentiment is from Concord & 9th’s Pretty Poppy stamp set. I love the font and it pops stamped with Altenew Obsidian pigment ink. The bow was added using retired SU ribbon. And the final touch are the three hearts cut from the Stitched Be Mine dies in SU Sparkle Glimmer Paper.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you are inspired to be crafty today.

Cheers,

Michelle

Clubhouse Birthday for GDP#221

Stampin up Clubhouse GDP#221 Color Challenge Masculine birhtday card ideas Michelle Gleeson Stampinup SU

A quick post before I head off to work this morning. I was inspired by two challenges the Global Design Project Team  Color Challenge and Freshly Made Sketches

While I LOVE Christmas if you are like me I am done with all the holiday inspired paper crafting projects therefore I took this holiday-ish color palette and went in a different direction.

The card is simple and perfect for a masculine birthday. Clubhouse is a new stamp set coming out on January 3rd. There are coordinating dies as well.

Of course the inside of the card is just as important as the outside. I do love this sentiment.

(As I was taking the photos the sun went behind the clouds leaving me with a blue tint to the white card stock. )

A very special Birthday

Each year Christmas Eve brings so forth so many memories. Excitement as a child with the anticipation of Santa’s arrival, celebrations with family as we went to mass and came home to enjoy champagne appetizers and gift opening, and then the birth of our first son.

Our son’s birth was not anticipated as he came three months early. I can recall like it was yesterday leaving the hospital on Christmas night passing the beautiful decorations that lined the hospital drive – without him with us.   We had a priest come to the hospital to christen him on Christmas Day; and experienced our own Christmas miracle as Conor responded well to the jet ventilator. Today we celebrate his 26th birthday!

This fun shaker card features Honey Bee Designs Happy Birthday Stamp and coordinating Honey Cuts. My order came in this adorable buffalo plaid paper bag. I could not resist using it for this special birthday card. I just love the result. Thank you Honey Bee Stamps for the beautiful packaging.

The inside message is from the new Stampin’ Up! Sending You Thoughts Sale–Bration stamp set.

It’s Your Day!

This Fall we are experiencing unusually cold and snowy weather in the Midwest and Northeast. The result is we are having gloriously cool temps in Southwest Florida. This weekend we are having temps in the 60’s so our house is open to bring in the fresh air. These are days you wish you could stop time in order to enjoy it more.

Today’s project is a masculine birthday card that was quick easy yet striking in its simplicity. The DSP (Designer Series Paper) does most of the work. The layout was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches this week.

The images are from Concord & 9th’s Just Because Stamps and Dies. I love leaves and foliage type sets and this is no exception. This set can bring texture to a project as it did here to the inside of the card as well as the envelope flap.

The sentiments are from Avery Elle Banner Bits; I love this font. A few Nuvo Drops are the finishing touch to the front of the card.

The color palette is Stampin’ Up! Mossy Meadow and Pear Pizzazz.

The lighting was not great for the photos due to overcast skies leaving the White card stock to have a bluish tint.

I hope you are having a great weekend. And stop over to see the great projects by the design team at Freshly Made Sketches.

Thanks for stopping by.
