My creative juices are flowing in the morning so when I saw this week’s GDP Color Challenge I was excited to get into my craft room and get inky. The colors are a combination of bold and soft. I would never have put these colors together on my own.
Starry Sky is quite overpowering to the pinks so I used it as an accent. The flowers were created with a combination of Sweet Sorbet and Petal Pink.
The retired stamp set used is called To a Wild Rose. It is a three step stamp set. I envisioned using the pink layers of create depth to the roses. Similar to these real roses currently in my home.
Using Sweet Sorbet full strength for the outline of the flowers I then stamped off the Sweet Sorbet once for the full color stamp. The third stamp was stamped full strength in Petal Pink. One of the flowers was outlined in Sweet Sorbet and the other two layers stamped in full strength Petal Pink. It is amazing how light the Sweet Sorbet became after stamping off just once.
Then I added some (retired) gold “greenery” and die cut buds in Starry Sky card stock. A gold bee embellishment was the finishing touch. I didn’t add a sentiment as I am not sure who this is going to…thinking of you, happy birthday, or just because they will all work when the time comes.
As I work to regain my creative mojo challenges are great inspiration. Thanks for stopping by.
