When I saw the Here’s to Strong Women stamp set last year I had to have it. However I realized I have not showcased it on my blog…until now and now it’s retired!  So disappointed.

This card was created for someone who is relocating from the Midwest to the West Coast to take on a significant role in a new company. This was a difficult decision and am thrilled she is taking on the challenge.

The color palette is Misty Moonlight, Seaside Spray, Night of Navy, Silver and Whisper White. 

The focal point background was created using the new Many Medallions die which I trimmed to the size I wanted. The sentiment was stamped in Night of Navy and then die cut using the Stitched So Sweetly dies which I cut off the sides. 

The Forever Gold Laser Cut Speciality Paper is White on the backside. Using Sponge Daubers I added Seaside Spray and Misty Moonlight to the white side of the greenery. Some greenery was heat embossed in silver by dipping in Versamark ink and then sprinkling with Silver Embossing Powder.  The greenery was tucked under the sentiment that was popped up on dimensionals.

And we cannot forget the inside of the card which was adorned with another die cut from Many Medallions.

You can see the envelope was also jazzed up to make the recipient smile.

It has been a while since I have been able to get time in my craft room. After months of just my husband and I we have had much welcomed guests. The love and laughter of family and friends is priceless. I hope you are all staying well and enjoying your summer. 

I have many new stamps and dies from the Stampin’ Up! 2020-2021 Annual Catalog I wanted to dig into. My card today features the In Good Taste DSP which is full of texture photo images that are SO realistic. The Wreath Builder Dies allowed me to create this pretty wreath using Gumball Green (retired)and Garden Green card stock. 

Freshly Made Sketches provided the inspiration for the card.

The sentiment was created using Spellbinders Hot Glimmer System. I love the effect os the foiling.

It is always exciting to get new stamp sets and getting them inked up. This card evolved…there was no plan only stamping, die cutting and then the desire to make something from the pieces created. 

In the end I like the result.

Floral Essence DSP was placed at the bottom of the card base and a strip of gold card stock that was die cut with an old border die. 

The top portion of the card was stamped with a splatter image repeatedly and then heat embossed in gold. 

Then the sentiment was stamped and die cut with the stitched square dies on the diagonal (now you have diamond stitched dies!). This was mounted to the card front on Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The NEW Forever Ferns were stamped in an array of SU green inks, die cut and placed under the sentiment.

A couple of gold embellishments are the finishing touches.

Sometimes it is fun to just create with no real vision in mind. I hope you get some creative time in this weekend.

Celebrate Sunflowers

I received my 2020-2021 Annual Catalog Pre-order and was excited to ink it up. I decided to participate in two challenges as my inspiration.

The Spot Creative Challenge is a color challenge this week.

And the Global Design Project #242 is a sketch challenge.

I used Mango Melody, Pumpkin Pie and Granny Apple Green as my color palette for the project. Stampin’ Blends were used to color the sunflower and leaves. I bit of Wink of Stella was used on the petals of the sunflower which sparkles in the sun. The flower was cut out with the coordinating die and popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals for more visual interest.

Retired Cotton Ribbon in Pumpkin Pie was wrapped around the White card stock and tied in a bow for a pop of color. Then a few sequins were added as the finishing touch.

The sentiment was created using Spellbinders Hot Foil System and Everyday Sentiments II hot foil plates. Then I cut it out with SU Stitched Rectangle Dies. I LOVE these dies. The hot foiling is stunning.
