Fusion Challenge Birthday Card

This week I wanted to try a new challenge – Fusion Card Challenge.  You can create a project inspried by the picture (colors), the sketch, or fuse them together for a Fusion card.  I went for full on Fusion!  Here is the Challenge:

Fusion

I thought the colors and the sketch were great.  Here is my card inspired by both the colors and the sketch:

05-27-2014

I love how this turned out.  Using Whisper White card stock as my base I created a standard A2 sized card.  Then I added a 2 1/2"strip of card stock from the Fresh Print DSP Paper Stack (only available through June 1st).

Using my Real Red, Basic Black, and Crushed Curry Stampin Write Markers I inked up the cake from the Embellished Events stamp set.  Then using my Oval Collection Framelits I cut an oval in Real Red card stock and then cut the stamped image in an oval shape.  A few Basic Pearls finish off the cake.

The sentiment comes from Sketched Birthday and cut out using my Bitty Banners framelits.  The finishing touch are three Real Red (Brights) candy dots.

I really enjoyed playing this challenge.  Perhaps I inspired YOU to play too.

I will see you tomorrow.

Work of Art!

05-26-2014

When the Demonstrator Sneak Peek order period opened I immediately placed my order for some  NEW catalog items.  The Work of Art stamp set was one of the items ordered.  It is such a popular stamp set, it has been on back order since the opening of Sneak Peek!  I received the set this week and these cards will show you why it is so popular!

This one stamp set created three very different designs.  Three women in my office were recognized with special awards for their accomplishments at an industry VIP night this past week.  I sent these cards off to them to acknowledge their achievement.

All three cards were created using the Stampin' Up! Note card and envelope set.  This card includes a layer of DSP from the Moonlight DSP stack in the new catty.  Then I stamped the flower using one of the watercolor stamps from Work of Art  and Hello Honey ink simply moving the paper around with each stamp to create the flower petals.   The center is another stamp in the set and stamped in Mossy Meadow ink.  The sentiment is in Mossy Meadow as well.

This card features the same stamp used above to create the flower. This card features the new Lost Lagoon ink color to create the ombre look.  The bottom layer is stamped immediately from the ink pad, the next layer is stamped off once and then stamped on the card, and the final layer was stamped off twice before being stamped on the card.  The "window" was created using one of the Square Collection Framelits.  The ribbon is also new and coordinates with the new In-Color Lost Lagoon.  Clean and simple for sure.

The final card in the set shows off four stamps in the set and adds a touch of Gorgeous Gunge.  This card shows off four of the five new In-Colors. This card was inspired by Jennifer Timko a Stampin' Up! Artisan Team member.

Is this getting you excited for the new Catty? Only one week until the new catty goes live! What's on your wish list?  If I can help you you decide what to invest in please let me know, I am only an email away.

Enjoy your Memorial Day holiday.  A special thank to all the men, women and their families who have sacrificed their lives for the freedom we enjoy as Americans.  God Bless America!

Totally CASE’d

05-24-2014
This card is not an original design.  A fellow demonstrator Lynn Hoyt posted an adorable card on the Pals private Facebook page a few weeks ago and I absolutely fell in love with it.  I could not wait to  CASE it.  Yes, a complete Copy And Share Everything card.

The card showcase several new items available on June 2nd!  (I am counting the days down until I can place my order for so many fabulous items in the catalog.)

Hello Honey is the card stock base.  The DSP on the bottom of the card is from the new Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack.  The ribbon is Lost Lagoon and the adorable stamp set is Something to Say.  The balloons on the envelope are from Sketched Birthday.

I hope you enjoyed another sneak peek of new catalog items.  If you want to see more of Lynn's designs check out Cattails Designs. Enjoy your long holiday weekend!

Nautical by the Seashore

This week's Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge #205 is very fun.  The layout created by Nicole Watt (shown below) really had my StampinMojo going and then I saw these pillows in a Pottery Barn catalog and I was off creating!

Inspiration

The card is very different for me because it is BUSY yet I really like it.  So let's get to it.

05-22-2014

I started with Whisper White card stock to create the standard A2 card base.  Then I added a layer of Soft Sky card stock just an 1/8" smaller all the way around.  The next layer is from the NEW Designer Series Paper called Maritime.

The three strips are Whisper White topped with another pattern from the Maritime DSP which I carefully cut so that each of the strips had the identical pattern.  Then using the By the Seashore stamp set I stamped the shell in Soft Sky ink all over a piece of Whisper White card stock.  Once that dried completely then I stamped the same shell in Night of Navy ink and then quickly added Clear Emboss Powder on the Night of Navy stamped images, heated it with my Heat Tool to get a sheen and add texture.  I tried to capture it with my camera.

I used my Circle Collection Framelits and cut out just what I wanted from my stamped shells and then backed it in Soft Sky card stock.

The card is not "clean and simple" however theme and consistency of colors seem to make it work.  What do you think?  I love to hear your comments.

I hope I got your mojo going and you will play with the Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge this week.  Remember you don't have to have a blog to play simply upload a photo of your project.
