Happy Weekend!

This week I received my Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog Pre-order and could not wait to ink up some of the stamps. The Wishing You Well stamp set was the first set I opened. The cards I created were CASE’d from the new Holiday Catalog.

This stamp set includes “distinctive” stamps that create photo realistic style images. The ribbon on the card above looks incredibly real. When I showed this card to some of my colleagues they immediately wanted to touch the ribbon as they thought it was real, It was one of the reasons I purchased the set. ♥

I also used the new Foil-Edged Cards and Envelopes for my cards. The card stock is lightweight so I stamped onto whisper white card stock and trimmed it to fit exactly within the foil trim. I also added another piece of whisper white card stock to the inside for added weight. The cards and envelopes come in silver and gold and will add a lot of glam to any holiday card.

I love the simplicity of the cards. You can see I added a Linen Thread bow to the stamped sprig which added the perfect amount of texture.

And on this card I added Silver Metallic Pearls for a bit of texture with no bulk for mailing.

Stitched All Around

Each time a new catalog comes out I go through and tell myself “Oh I don’t need that stamp set or bundle” and then I see beautiful projects with the set and I hurry to purchase the set I swore I would not get. Well, that has happened twice already with the new catalog. First with the Stitched All Around Bundle and then with the Broadway Birthday Bundle which I wrote about here.

My job often drains me during the day and my creative time allows me the quiet to regroup and feel a sense of accomplishment I might not have felt during the day. I follow several talented Stampin’ Up demonstrators whose designs inspire and wow me. These two cards were inspired from a project I did through Crafty Carrot Collective where they are featuring the Stitched All Around Bundle this month. I have so enjoyed learning from these talented designers.

Today’s card was inspired by the Global Design Team Sketch this week. They are celebrating their 150th week of challenges. Here is the sketch

I decided to turn the sketch on its side

My nephew is a recent University of Wisconsin grad and his birthday is next month so I went with a badger color palette – Gray Granite, Basic Black, Red Red and Whisper White.

The Stampin’ Up! Stamparatus made stamping the sentiment evenly across the card a breeze. The Broadway Bound Specialty DSP and coordinating Broadway Lights Framelits made for easy party hats and balloon decorations.

Today’s card was created for the sweetest girl who turned 3 Sunday. Her mom brought her to see me in my office on Friday. Since she does not see me that often she was a bit timid. I asked her if her favorite color was orange and she immediately said, “No its Pink!”. And so that was the palette for this sweet girl’s birthday card.

The Stitched labels Framelits Dies take center stage on this card. While the Large Numbers Framelits and stamp set are retired I will hang on to those for many years to come.

The background DSP is from the retired Flirty Flamingo Envelope Paper. I loved this paper for making envelopes and am sad to see it retired. The sentiment is from Broadway Birthday.

And Broadway Birthday was used to decorate the inside of the card. “Wish” was stamped in Flirty Flamingo and then the dots were stamped in Craft White ink and heat embossed with a mix of White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and Dazzling Diamonds. It looks so pretty.

(I wasn’t going to purchase this set then I saw so many great projects I had to add it to my recent order. So happy with the decision.)

The stitching along the bottom was created with another Stitched Label Framelit Die. ♥
