Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for September. This month we are showing off our favorite new products from the new Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog. We hope you enjoy our projects!
You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from Brian King at Stamp with Brian, number 13 on the Pals Hop. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all the projects.
This project was created using several of my favorite new products:
- Square Pillow Box Thinlits Die
- Reason for the Season Photopolymer Bundle (stamp set and coordinating punch)
- Winter Wonderland Specialty DSP
- Home for Christmas Enamel Dots
- Shimmery White card stock (an oldie but goodie)
So how did I get the Square Pillow Box to be become a rectangle? I put two pillow boxes together. Here is a quick look at how I did it.
I put each pillow box together leaving the squared off ends to meet in the middle. Then I created the belly band (3 1/2" x 9") to wrap around the two boxes.
Then I created the poinsettia using Whisper White Craft ink and Vellum. The leaves are Mossy Meadow card stock and ink. I found it easier to punch out the pieces and then stamp them. (Note: you can't be in a hurry because the white craft ink takes a while to dry. Be patient.) A few hours later I assembled my flower. I punched a 1 3/8" circle and anchored the flower onto the circle to give it the stability I wanted for the pillow box. A white Enameled Dot from the Home for Christmas Enamel Dots was the perfect center for my flower. It was adhered with two Stampin' Dimensionals to the Belly Band.
The card is 3 x 3 and was stamped with versa mark for the flower and heat embossed gold embossing powder. The leaves were stamped by using my Mossy Meadow Stamping' Write Marker. And the sentiment is from the Wondrous Wreath stamp set carried over from last year's holiday catalog.
The next stop is Dawn Tidd at Tiddbits From Dawn, number 15 on the Pals Blog Hop! Thanks for visiting; I hope to see you on next month’s Pals Hop!
