Just for You

Just for You, Birthday card, StampinMojo, Michelle Gleeson

I adore the font of this stamp. When I first saw the sketch for this week’s Pals Paper Arts challenge I was not excited to give it a try. I just did not like it. But I wanted to take on the challenge.

While I love this stamp set I had not yet used it so I decided to make it my focal point.

The color palette was determined when I selected the Wildflower DSP from Sale-A-Bration. Yummy Hello Honey, Black and White are very striking together.

I often struggle when there is a diagonal cut in a sketch. For this card I cut the DSP 4″ x 5 1/4″ and then put the DSP in my Stampin’ Trimmer on the diagonal to create the cut. Then I mounted the top piece on a piece of Whisper White with the same dimensions adding the bottom a bit more than a 1/4″ away from the top piece. A bit of trimming and I had created the “gap” I was looking for to meet the sketch.

The Bordering Blooms Photopolymer stamp set is another fav of mine. I thought it coordinated nicely with the DSP so I stamped the sunflower border stamp, adhered it to the base and then trimmed off the pieces that over hung the sides.

The inside sentiment is from a big box store. Aren’t the sunflowers adorable in the inside as well?

While at first I did not like the sketch, I am very happy with the result. I do hope you will play along with the Pals Paper Arts this week. You won’t want to miss what the sketch design team members have created.

  1. Hi Michelle! The large sentiment balances the small print on the DSP. I love the colors!

  2. Love that background paper with the bold sentiment! Fun card! Sorry you didn’t like the sketch but your end result is great!

  3. Brilliant Michelle, the card is absolutely stunning. Perfect color, perfect stamp set and the stamping the inside is fabulous. Thank you for playing along with the Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge.
