My card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge has a lot of texture. Creating my card was a bit challenging because we just transitioned to the new catalog and many items retired. I am awaiting my large order of new goodies. Most items used are active catalog items, the only retired item is the burlap ribbon.
Our host this week over at the Pals Paper Arts is Shawn de Oliveira. Shawn became a Pal last year and has wow’ed us with each of his creations both for the Pals and the Global Design Team. He is one very talented individual. Here is the badge for this week.
My card base is Sahara Sand (love the color) followed by a layer of Night of Navy. Then I took my Whisper White card stock and embossed the bottom half with the Lucky Stars Textured Embossing Folder. I cut the edges off the 1 1/8″ Burlap Ribbon and removed a couple of strands to create the fringe edges. I took those strands and tied them together to create the knotted strands. The banners were created from the Banners Framelits.
The inside carries over the banners. The sentiment is from a long ago retired set called Make a Wish. I actually cut this stamp to isolate the “Make a Wish” sentiment.
Please head over to the Pals Paper Arts site to see what the other designers have created with this handsome palette of colors.
Thanks for stopping by!
Michelle

So darned cute, inside and out. The banners and of course the burlap ribbon! I’ll sure miss it. But… I’m open minded and will give the new burlap a try. TFS Michelle!
I can never find a clean and simple way to use the burlap . . . but you mastered it. Love the little flags and touch of texture!
sweet simple card but the burlap makes it so awesome!
Such darling banners–they really show off the colors so well! And the stars make such a nice background! Great card!
Brilliant use of the burlap, Michelle! Such a fabulous card, inside and out!
It is a wonderful banner birthday, Michelle! Love the use of the burlap ribbon. Also love the banners going horizontal inside… well done, Pal…
Michelle, this is simply beautiful. I love the balance of white space above all the texture on the bottom half. The burlap looks so darn good too. Love it.
Michelle, this card is wonderful! I love all the banners and the texture they create with the different patterns and colors. Lovely!
