It’s Your Celebration

PPA224 Gleeson

I know this is one busy card for this classic look gal.  Let's check out the PPA sketch challenge that inspired my creation.

PPA224

This sketch was a real challenge for me.  I did try to follow the sketch and created a card for my son  in his university's colors.  However it did not photograph well and I just did not want it on display.

So back to the drawing board I went.  I decided to be inspired by the sketch rather than strictly follow it.  I determined the Back to Black DSP was my best bet for four coordinating banners.  I usually pair black and white with a crisp yellow or bright red.  However I wanted something different perhaps even soothing with all the patterns – Pear Pizzazz was perfect.

Then what should the sentiment or focal point be?  When I saw the cake from the Life's Adventures hostess stamp set I knew it was the right amount of whimsy for the card.  I added the color accents with Pear Pizzazz StampinWrite, Daffodil Delight and Old Olive Blendabilities markers.

I would love to see what you would do with this sketch.  Please give it a try and link up your creation over a the Pals Paper Arts Challenge.  Remember you don't need to have a blog to participate.

Thanls for stopping by!   I hope I got your StampinMojo going.
