Leadership Convention – Orlando FL

I am back home after attending the Stampin' Up! Leadership Convention in Orlando.  It was a fun, high energy learning environment.  And of course we received some free product I am looking forward to inking up and showing you!

I thought you might enjoy some pics of projects showcased at the convention.  Keep in mind the photos were taken of the large screen in the auditorium/theater for the large group sessions.  I still think you can get a good look at the projects.

  Becky Roberts

This was created by the very talented Becky Roberts.  She is an amazing demonstrator and her site is Inking Idaho.

Jenny Peterson

This card was created by Jenny Peterson.  She stamped the lines from the Painted Petals stamp set above the Painted Blooms DSP and then covered it with the new White Jute Ribbon from the Occasions Catalog.  Very clever!

  Diana Gibbs

And this card was created by Diana Gibbs.  She stamped the tulips from the Love is Kindness stamp on the bottom of the card stock so she only captured the tulips.  The sentiment is from the Build a Bouquet Photopolymer Stamp Set.

On the final day of the convention we had a keynote speaker – Jason Wright.  He spoke to us about the power of the handwritten card or letter.  He shared a personal experience of a teacher who wrote him a letter after his father passed away when he was in middle school.  He was a fabulous speaker and it was a powerful story.

After the convention I drove up to Gainesville Florida to see our oldest son.  We went to dinner and then to a concert by Black Violin.  (check them out, they are amazingly talented) At the concert the violist, Kev Marcus acknowledged the music teacher who was in the audience who started him playing the violin.  It was another powerful story of how in the everyday things that we do, we make a difference in someone's life.

That is certainly what I want to be famous for … making a difference in others lives.

Thanks for stopping by!

A Calm Sea…

Calm Sea Peek

I made this card for one of our sons as he was heading back to school after the holiday break.  While he was looking forward to getting back to school he seemed a bit anxious about the work ahead.  I know he can handle anything that comes his way and thought this card might provide some encouragment as he tackled new classes and continued new experiences.

Calm Sea

I used my Stampin' Up! Blendabilities to color in the water on the World Map background stamp.  Stampers Note: I purchased this stamp as a Clear Mount set.  However, I recently purchased the Something Lacy background stamp in Wood and I will never buy a background stamp in anything but Wood again.  While the Clear Mount might cost less and take less space, the usability of the stamp in Wood Mount is so much better it means I will use it more.

The sentiment from the new Adventure Awaits Photopolymer stamp set was stamped in Versamark on Midnight Muse (Retired*) card stock and then Embossed with Stampin' Silver Emboss Powder. *You can easily substitute Night of Navy card stock.

Calm Sea 2

The Adventure Awaits stamps are large and have great encouraging sentiments in fabulous fonts.  I love this new set.

Today I am heading to Orlando for the Stampin' Up! Leadership Conference.  I am looking forward to being with other SU demonstrators to share ideas and get inspired.  I hope I inspired you today.

Cheers,

Michelle

For Just Being You

Artisan Peek

In our digitalized world getting a card in the mail is very special.  So when I want to let someone in my life know they are special to me, I make them a card.

Last week I saw someone who I only get to see about once a month.  When we are together we always laugh and I usually shed a tear or two (the happy kind).  That evening I went home and made her this card.

Artisan

A clean and simple card to acknowledge how special she is to me.

The roses were created using a die cut in the Artisan Embellishment Kit from the Occasions Catalog.  I simply sponged Rose Red Ink over the die cut and it acted like a stencil.  Then I matted it onto a piece of Elegant Eggplant card stock.

The sentiment is from the Crazy About You stamp set and is stamped in Elegant Eggplant as well.

You can see the complete list of what I used to create this card below.  If you have any questions, don't hesitate to email me.  I love to hear from you.

Congrats on your New Addition

I fell in love with a card by Cindy Schuster of the Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team.  So when a colleague shared that she and her husband were expecting, I knew I wanted to CASE Cindy's card.  I changed a few elements along the way.

Congrats

I used the new Washi Tape sheets from the Occasions Catty and then punched out the Sweetheart Hearts.  I love the shape of this punch.

The sentiment is from the Simply Wonderful stamp set that is FREE through March 31st with a $50 purchase of Stampin' Up! product (before taxes and shipping). This stamp set is perfect for beginners.  It has sentiments you would use for many occasions.

And the adorable button is part of the Sweet Dreams Designer Buttons set.  I love the color combination of Smoky Slate, Lost Lagoon and Crushed Curry.

Congrats 2

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you are enjoying your weekend.
