Ribbon, Pens and Ink … Oh My!

This is week two of my four-part series on organizing your craft supplies.  Last week we looked at the storage of paper and paper scraps.  You can check it out here if you missed it.

This week I want to share with you how I organize my Ribbon, Stampin Markers, and Ink pads.  I had a Stampin' Up! Color Caddy that I invested in right after becoming a demonstrator.  I loved it however as I bought more ink pads and ink refills I wanted another solution.

I found this Stamp pad, ink refill and marker caddy from Stamp N Storage.  It comes unfinished so you can paint it any color you want.  Right now I left it naked.  It sits on two inexpensive microwave carts from Target.  You can see my Stampin' Scrub in front of the ink storage.  It is the perfect spot for it.  There is shelving underneath that olds other tools.

You can see in this next photo how I have my Paper Piercing sheets hanging from 3M hooks and I my sentiment stamp sets fit neatly in these decorator squares (they come in a set of three) from Bed, Bath & Beyond.  The Ribbon caddy holds my Craft Scissors and my Snips on either side of the ribbon.  I love having everything within reach and fairly visible to me.  I am standing in front of my craft table to take the photo.  Have I ever mentioned I stand to craft?  I stand at a large craft table that is 40" high and I LOVE IT!!!

Last year I participated in a Ribbon Share with another demonstrator.  As a result I obtained a length of ribbon not on a spool so here is my solution for stray ribbon and baker's twine:

This is a super inexpensive solution – a small dowel rod and 3M hooks again!  The rings with the clips are from the Bed, Bath, & Beyond drapery area.  I believe there are about a dozen per pack. I love this because I can easily see what I have and when I close the closet door no one even knows it is there!

I hope I gave you some inexpensive ideas for organizing your craft space.  Don't forget to come back tomorrow for another Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge.

Very Vintage

04-07-2014

Do you ever ponder a stamp set for some time before you purchase it?  I have  loved the Very Vintage Jumbo Wheel stamp for some time.  However, I don't use stamp wheels.  This has not stopped me from purchasing them though, because I simply peel the stamp off the wheel and then mount it on the Clear-Mount Cling Foam – and wa-la I have a 6" long stamp!  I finally added this stamp to my last Stampin' Up! order and I am so glad I did.  Isn't it pretty?

I have been having fun lately creating different size cards.  The Pink Pirouette card base is 6" x 3 1/2" and embossed with the Lacy Brocade Texture Embossing Folder (retired and available on the Clearance Rack while supplies last).  This size card was perfect to use my new Very Vintage 6" long stamp!  I stamped it in Crumb Cake ink on Very Vanilla card stock then inked the edges with Baked Brown Sugar and a Sponge Dauber.

Then I added a Scallop Trim Border of Baked Brown Sugar.  The finishing touch is Crumb Cake Seam Binding Ribbon.

A very simple card to create and an elegant feminine result.  Thanks for stopping by and I hope I inspired you to get creative today.

Bright & Cheery for FMS #130

At the last minute I decided to create a card for this week's FMS Sketch Challenge.

FMS Final 130-001

A clean and simple sketch.  I also was inspired by the following color palette that I found on Pinterest.

I thought the bright pink flowers against the Turquoise Blue was stunning.

So I grabbed Tempting Turquoise, 3 1/4" x 4 1/4", and Baja Breeze (retired SU color) 3 1/8" x 4" and layered them.  The Whisper White piece is 2 5/8" x 3 1/2" and stamped the Dahlia from Regarding Dahlias stamp set in Melon Mambo.  Using my Blender Pen I added dimension with Pink Pirouette ink.

The ribbon is Blushing Bride Chevron ribbon.

I did not achieve what I was truly envisioning as the blues are not quite right.

You can see that I lined the envelope in Tempting Turquoise and then decorated the outside of the envelope with another Dahlia.  I adore this flower, it is just so happy!

This is a quick and easy card I hope you are inspired to get your paper and ink out and make something beautiful today.

Just Sayin’

04-05-2014

Two weeks ago today I took our dog Mojo to the vet.  He has allergies and they often flare up leading to an ear infection.  Well the vet gave us some medicine to clear up the ear infection and a new medicine for his allergies.  He is doing GREAT so I wanted to send a note to the vet to say Thanks.

When Mojo goes to the vet he is a celebrity.  He has such a great calm personality they all love him. So it seemed to make sense to "feature" him on the cover of the thank you note.  And don't we all wish our pets could talk?  At our house we talk to him and answer for him, as if he said it.  LOL

I used the Just Sayin' stamp set and coordinating bundle to let Mojo say thanks.  The sentiment is embossed in Early Espresso Emboss Powder.

The inside uses a couple of stamps from a retired stamp set called D is for Dog.  I hope they come out with some new pet stamps in the new Annual Catalog – only a few months away.

P.S. I posted this on the StampinMojo Facebook page a couple of weeks a go.  Don't miss StampinMojo news – LIKE us today on Facebook.

You may have wondered where the name StampinMojo came from. I wanted a fun name that inspired me and was connected to me. Since I was apprehensive at first to put my picture on my blog I thought I would use a picture of my dog since his name is Mojo. I thought Mojo could have two meanings. Something I love – Mojo and a way to inspire with my own creative mojo (aka spirit). And there you have it – StampinMojo.
