With Sympathy

Altenew Dotted Blooms Honey Bee With Sympathy Sympathy Card ideas Michelle Gleeson

Happy Weekend! I have a quick card to share. I made this for a colleague who lost her mom this week. I had a new stamp set from Altenew (Dotted Blooms) to ink up. I used the inspiration provided with the stamp set for my design. The images were stamped in opposite corners in Early Espresso ink. I added color with Calypso Coral and Poppy Parade Blends.

The real star is the sentiment which is from the Honey Bee With Sympathy stamp set. Sympathy was stamped in Poppy Parade ink and then cut with my Scan n Cut. The “with” was stamped and heat in embossed in white on Early Espresso card stock. The card base is Poppy Parade with a layer of Calypso Coral card stock to frame the focal point of the card. A few Basic Jewels provide the finishing touch.

The inside sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp Moments of Grace stamp set.  The envelope was adorned with a Dotted Bloom image and colored to coordinate with the card.

I you are starting to see some signs of Spring wherever you are.

My Abstract Garden for FMS#378

Stampin Up Butterfly Gala SSS Amazing stamp set FMS#378 Thinking of You card idea Michelle Gleeson Stampinmojo SU

Happy Saturday! I did a very different card today inspired by this week’s Freshly Made Sketch.

FMS378

I started with a vision of using the circle stamps from the Simon Says Stamp Amazing stamp set. I decided to frame them to define the colors a little more [Tranquil Tide, Mint Macaron, Mossy Meadow]. Then I selected the Stampin’ Up! Share What you Love DSP to coordinate with the circles. I don’t usually mix patterns as I have here.

As I laid the circles over the DSP the card began taking shape. I decided on the dark Early Espresso background to act as dirt to anchor the circles as abstract flowers. I added Basic Pearls to the center of the circles to finish the “flowers”.

This card is really outside my comfort zone and not my normal style.

The sentiment came from the SU Butterfly Gala stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by.

Cheers,

Geared Up Birthday Card

Stampin Up Classic Gargage DSP Garage Gears Thinlits Dies Geared Up Garage Stamp Set Masculine Birthday Card Ideas Michelle Gleeson Stampinup SU

A quick post to share this masculine birthday card featuring the Classic Garage Suite from Stampin’ Up! I tweaked the Happy Father’s Day stamp from the Geared Up Garage stamp set to say Happy Birthday.

It look like there might be a piece of Basic Black card stock to the right of the DSP but it is only a shadow. I already sent the card or I would have retaken the photos.

The card is really just layers of card stock and DSP. The only stamping is the sentiment. Super simple yet creates a strong  card.

Thanks for stopping by.

An Everyday Bouquet

C9 Everyday Bouquet Turnabout Thank you card ideas Michelle Gleeson #Concordand9th

Last month when this stamp set came out I goofed and forgot to add it to my cart before I checked out. So I (painfully) waited it to add it to my Concord and 9th order this month. Yes it seems I want at least one of the sets in their launch each month.

This set is called the Everyday Turnabout and it is so pretty. I used Petal Pink (swoon), Mint Macaron, Crumb Cake and  Tim Holtz Distress Oxide- Faded Jeans.

This is heading out to a woman who works at Northern Trust who assisted me this week. She made my day and I want her to know it. The smallest acts of kindness can make such a big difference.

Who will you send a card to this week to say thank you?

Have a wonderful weekend.
