Simple Saturday – Gingham Gala Note Card

After months of holiday cards, gifts and projects I am ready for some fresh color palettes. Today I am showing you a sneak peek at the new Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper Pack. The colors are fresh and springtime ready.

I paired up the Grapefruit Grove Gingham pattern with Coastal Cabana which was brought back with this year’s SU Color Refresh. I love the combination.

The sentiment on the front is from Concord & 9th’s Everyday Tintables Card Pack which is on clearance right now. I simply watercolored the card with Coastal Cabana ink. Super easy, fun to create and made me feel like an artist.

A coordinating Grapefruit Grove bow (retired ribbon), some sequins and the card is complete.

I hope all you are enjoying this holiday season and preparing for a weekend with family and friends. Our sons are home for the holiday and that is the greatest gift of all. Our oldest was born on Christmas Eve so we have two birthdays to celebrate! Always a busy time for us as my husband celebrates his birthday on New Year’s Day.

Stampin’ hugs,

Michelle

Sending Cheer for FMS 367

Today I am sending you some cheer for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches. I just love bubbly – Champagne, Prosecco it does not matter. For the holidays try adding Pomegranate juice rather than Orange juice for a yummy Mimosa.

Let’s get back to the sketch and the card…

The sketch is clean and so I wanted to stay true to the sketch while adding a bit of texture. So I used SU Delightfully Detailed Laser Cut Specialty Paper and framed it using a Rectangular Stitched Die.

The Champagne glasses are from the Retired SU stamp set called Making Spirits Bright. I colored them with Copic Markers and then to emulate the effervescent bubbles I added tiny stars from a Retired SU Star Border Punch.

The sentiment was cut four times; once from Gold Glimmer Paper and three times from Whisper White card stock then glued together. The sentiment is from WPlus9  called Sending Cheer.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope your holiday season is filled with a bit a bubbly.

C9 Geometrics Christmas for FMS 366

FMS 366 C9 Geometric Shapes Holiday Card Idea Michelle Gleeson

After posting my previous entry for FMS 366 I had another idea for the sketch. I am tickled with how this turned out.

Here is a reminder of this week’s sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches

FMS366

I remembered I recently purchased Concord & 9th’s Geometrics stamps & dies set. It is perfect for this sketch.

I used the Making Spirits Bright sentiment from the same named Stampin’ Up! stamp set. I love the glitter behind the triangles emulating sparkling lights on the Christmas tree. Of course I had to add a star!

Well I need to get out of my craft room and do some Christmas shopping. Whatever you are doing today I hope it brings you joy.

Love & Hugs for FMS #366

I am finally posting after a brief hiatus. Over the past several months I have been working on a major financial transaction at work. Crafting has been my solace but after a  non-stop day on my computer I could not bring myself to create a post. I needed less screen time and more paper and ink time. I hope I did not lose too many of you.

When I saw the Freshly Made Sketch Design Team Call I knew it was time to jump back onto my blog. I was on the Pals Design Team for several years and really miss the weekly responsibility to post. (Crazy right?) I was also a designer for Mary Fish for a year and loved that as well. I really want to say Pick me, Pick me!

Let’s get to my project.

Here is the sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches:

FMS366

I used the slat design as the inspiration for my banner flags. And then decided to go with a Valentines theme rather than a Christmas theme for the shape.

The sentiment is from Stampin’ Up! Ribbon of Courage stamp set. The DSP for the banner flags is retired. The Hearts are from the SU Sweet & Sassy Framelit Dies.

You may see the banners are mounted on Smoky Slate card stock. The first version of this card was on Smoky Slate card stock that I had spritzed with Shimmer Paint and Alcohol. While the shimmer was stunning I could not pick it up in the photo sooo I snipped the center piece and remounted it on Thick Whisper White card stock. Honestly I like it better and the Smoky Slate (with the shimmer) adds a great design element.

Nothing is ever a disaster when designing; it just means you need to keep designing!

It is great to be sharing my creativity with you again. I would love to hear from you.

Thank you for stopping by.
