Lullaby Baby Shower
One of my colleagues is having her second baby. She and her husband have decided to let the gender of this baby be a surprise. That is highly unusual with the millennials today. I have been invited to her baby shower so I created her card this weekend and made it gender neutral using the Lullaby DSP retiring on June 2nd.
The card is pretty straight forward, each layer of the card stock is 1/4" smaller than the 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" base. The card stock across the center of the card is 1/2" wide.
I used the Something for Baby Stamp set and coordinating Framelits. This stamp set is about to retire but the framelits are not as they coordinate with a new stamp set in the 2015 Annual catalog. The hearts are from the Itty Bitty Punch set and the card stock is under the Itty Bitty Accents Epoxy Stickers. If you have not tried these they are a great finishing touch at a small price tag.
I used The Paper Players Sketch as my inspiration.
Let's look at the inside of the card. The sentiment is from the Big News stamp set. I thought this looked so cute.
Since I don't have my gift yet, I wanted the embellishment the envelope in a manner that would coordinate well with the wrapping (when that happens).
I love to hear your comments so I know you really are out there. Let me know what you think.
Happy Stampin'

A Patriotic Thank You
As we enjoy this long holiday weekend, I want to remember the soldiers that made the ultimate sacrifice for the freedom we often take for granted. I created this card to say thanks for the sacrifice and bravery of these lost men and women.
The base of the card is Night of Navy and the DSP is Maritime, retiring on June 2nd. The focal point was created with a framelit from the Apothecary Framelits that are also about to retire on June 2nd. The sentiment is from Technique Tuesday. I rarely purchase anything outside of Stamping' Up! because no one matches the quality however I liked the font and coordinating framelit. The stars are from the Itty Bitty Punch set and the smallest star from the Star Framelits.
I am submitting this to Freshly Made Sketches.
And here is a close up of the focal point.
I hope you are enjoying your holiday weekend.

Seaside Birthday
Well we have officially launched into summer with the beginning of the Memorial Day weekend. I hope you have wonderful plans with family and friends.
My assistant had a birthday this past week. She loves the beach and water so I typically make her a card with blues and beiges to inspire thoughts of water and sand. This time I went straight for the By the Tide stamp set and used Crumb Cake, Calypso Coral and Very Vanilla.
I was inspired by a card I found on Pinterest by Tina Welles. I particularly liked how she combined the two textured embossing folders. The banner under the Windows Framelits (retiring June 2nd so get it now if you want it), was created with the NEW Triple Banner Punch. I have always struggled getting my banners right if I don't use a framelit so I could not wait to get this punch. It is SO worth investing in this punch. I love it!
The inside of the card used the sentiment from the Occasions Catty hostess set, Because You Care. I love the fonts and decorative elements in this stamp set. I just got it and am so glad I did before it is no longer available. Remember the Occasions Catalog will sunset on June 2nd. If there is anything you have been sitting on the fence about getting time is running out!
Yesterday we put our oldest on a plane to Brussels Belgium. He is an International Relations major and is thrilled to be embarking on this summer abroad program through the University of Florida. So my husband and I are back to just the two of us again and have a relaxing weekend planned with some neighbors joining us for a BBQ. What do you have planned this holiday weekend?
Thanks for stopping by. I plan on getting some crafting in this weekend and to get some posts ready for you. I am also working on my personal wish list with the new catty launching in just one week!!!
