A Gator Birthday Card

Gator Birthday

I bet you thought you would see a gator being stamped. This birthday card is for a University of Florida alumni so I used Gator colors not an actual gator.

This card is a total CASE from Sharon Burkert. I used Night of Navy and Tangelo Twist for my color palette. The Mosaic punch and Mosaic Madness stamp set are retiring as of June 1st. I will be hanging on to this set as it is so versatile to create creative designs. Click here to check out the remaining retired items.

To line up the mosaic punches I drew a faint pencil line down the middle of the card and placed the first vertical line of punches. Then I worked one side then the other to add the mosaic pieces. It was fun and a lot faster than I expected.

Gator Birthday 2

The sentiment inside the card is not from Stamping' Up!. I love the font when I saw it at a big box craft store. Isn't this what we all really want for our birthdays?

I hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day. I had one of our sons home which was nice.

Stop back tomorrow for the Weekly Deals. And Wednesday is the Pals May Blog Hop with over 30 participants so don't miss it.

Life is Good

Today's card was made for a special lady whom I do not know – Joyce Bierman. Joyce turned 90 years young yesterday. How do I know that Joyce is a special lady? Because I have had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know her daughter Linda Callahan, a fellow Pal. A few weeks ago Linda told us that her mom was turning 90 and she would love to have her mom receive 90 handmade cards in the mail for her birthday. How fun is that! So here is the card I sent to Joyce.

Life is Good

I enjoyed using the colors Hello Honey and Coastal Cabana for the Pals Color Challenge yesterday so I kept on with the palette. I think it looks fresh and fun.

The flowers are from the hostess set Bloom with Hope (I am not giving this set up for a while). The sentiment is from the Project Life Remember This stamp set. A very versatile set for card making and memory keeping.

More Life is good

When celebrating your 90th birthday you should feel life is good. Happy Birthday Joyce I hope it was a wonderful birthday!

Happy 19th Birthday!

Today our younger son turns 19. It is always fun to celebrate birthdays however this is the first birthday we will celebrate without the birthday boy being here.

We are fortunate that two of the four people in our family celebrate their birthday on holidays (Conor our oldest is on Christmas Eve and John my husband is on New Year's Day). So although Conor went off to school first we have never had to celebrate his birthday without him. A little tough on this mama bear.

I wanted to get the box off to Pierce and forgot to take photos of his cards. He took these photos and texted them to me. We opened presents together on Sunday via Facebook video chat which was better than simply hearing him open the presents!

The card above was created using the Balloon framelit in a variety of colors. This was inspired by a card I found on Pinterest.

And this is the card I made for his brother to send him.

We could not be more proud of the young man he has become. Thanks for sharing this birthday with me.
