Journal for Baby

I am amazed at all the ways new parents have to capture the joys of parenthood.  Cute onesies with each month adorning it to snap a photo and track the baby's growth – why didn't I think of that?!?  And so many new parents are writing to their babies and children with the intent of giving their thoughts to them as a gift when they get older.

I have a friend who wanted a journal book to capture her thoughts as she becomes a grandma.  The Sweet Dreams DSP is one of my favorites from the Occasions Catalog and perfect for this assignment.

Journal book

I think this turned out sweet.  I added punched out Sweetheart hearts and words using non-SU thinlits.  The sentiment is from a single Photopolymer set that was released this year called Snuggles and Smooches (I love this set).

The journal is made using a standard composition book that I got at Office Max.  I usually buy a dozen of them in the Fall when you can get 10 for $10.  The inside covers are covered in solid Hello Honey  card stock. I also adhered an envelope on the inside for any trinkets or memory items she might want to keep.

Thanks for stopping by.  Don't forget on Tuesday April 21st, Stamping' Up! will release the retired items list.  I will post it Tuesday morning.  Remember these items go FAST so if there is anything you have been thinking about getting don't delay.

Cheers,

Michelle

Thankful for you

This past weekend I attended the memorial service for an Aunt that was very special to me. She was someone who truly knew how to love unconditionally. It was a lovely service. I saw family I have not seen in 30+ years.  It was bittersweet. While in Chicago for the memorial service, I had the opportunity to see our son as well as my bestie, Kathy, from high school.

When I see Kathy it is as if no time has passed. Being together fills my soul in a way nothing else does.

I made this card for her which was inspired by this week's PPA Sketch. During last week's free shipping promotion I ordered this stamp set.  I love these flowers.

And here is this week's PPA sketch

I enjoyed stamping the envelope as well. This is a two step stamp set and oh so easy as a photopolymer set. The greeting is from the Good Greetings stamp set.

I do hope you will jump on over to the see what the other PPA design team members have done with this sketch.

A special note: the stamp set used in my card happens to be on sales this week via the weekly specials! Check it out here.

Purple Passion

Purple Passion describes this week's Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge.  It has been a while since I created a monochromatic card.  I am pretty pleased with the result.

And here are the PPA colors this week:

PPA247

Funny as I look at my card I wonder if I used the right colors? I might have used Wisteria Wonder rather than Elegant Eggplant.  I know the flowers are stamped in Perfect Plum and the window frame and ribbon are Blackberry Bliss.

See what you can do with this combination.  Make sure you grab the right colors though!

Here is a side view to get a sneak peek of the inside.

Despite my color mix up I am happy with the result.  Thanks for stopping by.
