Springy Curvy Keepsakes

A quick post today.  We have a lot of folks coming and going at our home so I am squeezing in time to create and blog.

These are the treat boxes I created for the April Birthdays.  I fill each one with Hershey's nuggets.

Curvy Keepsake

I used the Irresistibly Yours DSP from Sale-A-Bration. Only TWO days left to get this great paper that can become so many different papers. I used my brayer and colored one sheet with Mambo Melon and one in Wild Wasabi. This paper is a heavier weight and perfect for creating the curvy keepsake.

Then I cut out two butterflies – one in the coordinating plain card stock and one in vellum. I sliced each butterfly in half and glued it onto each side of the curvy keepsake handle. This idea came from Erica Cerwin at Pink Buckaroo Designs.  She is so amazingly talented.

If you have not yet taken advantage of Sale-A-Bration what are you waiting for? Time is running out.   Need a list of what you can get for FREE when you spend $50 (before taxes and shipping)? Pals Sketch Challenge #245

PPA 245

A simple and sweet thank you note.  The sentiment is from the French version of Lots of Thanks.  I have ordered a couple of stamp sets over the years in French.  I adore the font on this sentiment and thought it went well with the whimsy of the card.

The black band is 1 1/4" wide and 5 1/4" long.  The Real Red DSP is 1" by 5 1/4".  I used the Petite Petals stamp set and coordinating punch.  The flowers are stamped in Daffodil Delight and a black Candy Dot finishes them perfectly.

Here is the sketch for this week's Pals Paper Arts Sketch challenge:

I hope you will play along this week too.

Project Life by Stamping’ Up – capturing the moments of our lives

On Sunday I talked about getting back into my desire to get back into memory keeping.  While I have traditionally done scrapbooking the last couple of years I have been intrigued by Project Life.  I was thrilled when Stamping' Up! added the Project Life lineup.  The PL cards coordinate with the SU color palette continuing their commitment to coordinating all the elements of their product line.  LOVE!

As I mentioned I am going back to the summer of 2012 to pick up where I left off.  The next event to capture was a trip John and I took to Quebec City.  It was a wonderful trip and the pictures captured all the fun and adventure.  It was great to relive this week.  Here are a few PL pages to capture some of the events.

SUPL Quebec City

This page is the first page and captures a few of the unique and beautiful images we experienced while in this very European city.

We also did many adventurous excursions…a Tree-to-Tree obstacle course, ziplining and Via Ferrata.

SUPL Ziplining

These are photos of me ziplining. Can you see the ledge I am standing on?  It is a leap of faith to just jump off and a great opportunity to scream with delight.  I need to add some journaling but I think the pictures truly tell the story.

SUPL more ziplining

When I first starting using Project Life pages I struggled believing I needed to resize the photos to fit in the pockets.  As you can see here I used four pockets for one photo.  I no longer feel bound by the pockets.  I used the Adventure Awaits and Amazing Birthday stamp sets here.  Perfect!

Are you inspired to start using Project Life by Stamping' Up yet?
