Happy Saturday! We survived one of the longest work weeks of the year – the first full week after the holiday's is always tough. It seems to go on, and on, and on. I am glad for the weekend and a bit of crafting.
I created this birthday card for a colleague at the office. I started with a standard A2 cardbase in Very Vanilla and rounded the outside corners for a change of pace. I had the new Banner Framelits from the Occasions Catalog and wanted to use them to create layers of banners using DSP from Venetian Romance and Etcetera (the polka dots). [This would be a great way to use scraps.] Then I stamped my sentiment from A Dozen Thougths Stamp Set. After punching the circles I layered them using Stampin Dimensionals and added my "bow" which was created from two large ovals punched and gently folded end to end and secured with a glue dot. A Naturals Designer Button with a piece of linen thread finishes the bow. To ensure balance with my card I added three Calypso Coral candy dots in the upper right corner.
The resulting card is soft and subtle.
We are having a couple over for dinner tonight and I am looking forward to entertaining. What are you doing this weekend? Whatever you do enjoy!
