Retired DSP takes on Current DSP

I love paper. The more I love a paper pattern the less likely I am to use it. How crazy is that? Today I am showing you two birthday cards using one layout. And I am using some favorite DSP patterns.

The first card (below) is using a retired DSP called Birthday Bash Specialty DSP and the coordinating stamp set called Balloon Bash. I love the splashes on the paper and within the coordinating stamp set.

This stamp set is photopolymer so I masked the splashes and the sentiment to stamp the HB in Calypso Coral and then I was able to easily ink the splashes and sentiment using a Bermuda Bay ink spot from one of my Paper Pumpkin kits.

StampinMojo,

The stamp on the inside of the card is also from the retired Balloon Bash stamp set. I added Gold Wink of Stella to the flame tips so the candles look like they are glowing. I am also showing off my #imbringingbirthdaysback stamp which I am added to the back of envies.

This is the same layout just using different DSP and a different shape for the sentiment. This card features the current It’s My Party DSP. The balloon was punched using the Balloon Bouquet Punch. Can you see the Silver Thread coming off the balloon as it’s string? The sentiment is from the Suite Sayings stamp set.

I am often asked about this sentiment stamp. I purchased it from a big box hobby store. I am not sure which one.

I hope you enjoyed today’s post  using one layout with two different looks.

  1. I understand about not wanting to use the DSP that you love; you love it so much, that you can’t bear to make a cut in it! I’m the same way! Beautiful cards – simple layout can be used over and over. Each card would look different by changing up the DSP and stamps that are used.
