Birthday Wishes with Sparkle

GDP093 Concordand9th Floral Fill in Stencils and DSP SU In-Colors Birthday card Michelle Gleeson

Today I am playing the Global Design Project Challenge #093. It is a color challenge with some very bright colors, check it out.

The focal point of the card is Concord & 9th’s Floral Fill-in Patterned Paper. The paper is unique as it has openings in the print that coordinate with a set of stencils. One stencil provides the outline and a second stencil provides the details. I used the outline stencil to blend Berry Burst for the background/base of the flower. Then I used the detailed stencil to add more Berry Burst ink.

Next I went back to the outline stencil and smooshed (a very crafty word) Versamark over the flowers followed by Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder. After heat setting the embossing powder I blended the Pool Party and Lemon Lime Twist ink over the rest of the patterned paper.

Then using the detailed stencil I added Stampin’ Embossing Paste and sprinkled it with fine glitter. In the photo above you can see the shine from the heat embossed flower bases and a little bit of the glitter.

The sentiment is from the Stampin’ Up! Lemon Zest stamp set and it was embossed in White Embossing Powder on Basic Black card stock.

The focal point was mounted on Thick Whisper White card stock to give it more weight then mounted with Stampin’ Dimensionals on a standard 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ Pool Party card stock base.

A few drops of Key Lime Nuvo Jewel Drops were added over the dots on the patterned paper to add even more shine.

I feel I showcased the color palette fully!
