Stampin’ Up!’s Flourish Thinlits provide an elegant backdrop to this clean and simple sympathy card.
The colors used are Certain Celery (retired), Old Olive and Very Vanilla.
Side note: When I was a new demonstrator I did not understand that colors were retired. I loved Certain Celery so I purchased two packages of card stock only to find out a few weeks later the color was retiring. While I don’t like to feature items that are retired I knew you could easily see how you can substitute your favorite color palette using this design.
I used the new Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets when I created the Flourish Thinlits. If you have not used them before it is super easy…You take the adhesive sheet and adhere it to your card stock. Then you place your thinlit on the card stock and run it through your Big Shot like you normally do. Only now when you want to place the die cut onto your project you simply peel away the adhesive backing and add it to your project without the mess of glue! The only issue I have is remembering to use it, old habits die hard.
You can see I added a piece from the Flourish thinlits to the inside of the card and added flowers from the SU Jar of Love stamp set and coordinating dies.
The sentiment on the front and inside of the card are from the My Favorite Things – Deepest Sympathy stamp set.
The sentiment on the front was cut out with a Stitched Shapes Framelit. Then mounted on an oval cut from Certain Celery with the Layering Ovals Framelits and that was mounted to an Old Olive Stitched Oval Framelit. The Ovals were mounted with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Pearl Basic Jewels are the finishing touch to beautiful and elegant sympathy card.
It is going to my sister-in-law who just lost her brother. To protect the pearls I will add a piece of card stock that I embossed with a textured embossing folder. Embossing the card stock just adds a bit more flair than just adding the card stock.
I hope you enjoyed today’s post.

Can I say that a sympathy card is elegant!?!? I love this, and I miss Certainly Celery. I just bought the adhesive sheets and am anxious to try them.
Beautiful card , simple .
My all time favorite color combo: Certainly Celery and Concord Crush! I, too, hoard my favorite colors of cardstock and ink. This is a beautiful card! TFS!
Can’t seem to find the stamp set. Do you have an item number or catalog page. I love this set.
Classic….clean and oh so YOU!!!! Love it!
You create such lovely sympathy cards which I find so very difficult. You have a gift.
