I hope you have been as fortunate as me and had these last four days off.  Oh, how I love this long holiday weekend each year.  The holiday decorations are up , the football games were amazing yesterday and today I will settle down to make my Stampin' Up! order from the Holiday Sale. Where did my Mojo come from?

I wanted to use a fresh color combination.  So I pulled out my Stampin' Up! Color Coach and flipped through looking for something that caught my eye.  One of my favorite Stampin' Up! colors is Island Indigo so it is no surprise that I landed on a combination of Island Indigo, Baja Breeze (retired), and Rich Razzleberry.  Despite the fact that Baja Breeze is retired I just had to go with the combination once I saw it. 

My goal was to make a birthday card for a colleague with this sketch so I chose the Pretty Print Textured Embossing Folder from the holiday catalog to add a feminine flair.  

Confession – I often get ahead of myself when creating a card.  I excited about the creation and begin adhering my elements before I have really finished thinking through the card design.  That happened here.  I had added the Baja Breeze Seam Binding ribbon to the Rich Razzleberry card stock and mounted it with Stampin Dimensionals.  Then I realized I needed a sentiment.  Hmmm.  So I carefully lifted the corner of the Rich Razzleberry, put a firm surface underneath it and stamped my sentiment from the Make A Wish stamp set.  Although you can't really see it, I added Dazzling Diamonds to the flame of the Wish candle.

In the end, the color combination steals the show.  Thanks to my Color Coach!

Where did my Mojo come from?

This card is totally CASE'd from Melissa Davies.  I have seen this card before yet I loved her use of Stampin' Up's Champagne Glimmer Paper.

I hope you enjoy time with family and friends today.  For the first time in twenty some years we are not hosting Thanksgiving.  We are going to a friends home and the menu is out of this world. We are all a bunch of foodies so the menu is like something out of Food and Wine. It will certainly be a merry time!
