Joyful Christmas goes 3D

11-16-2013

Whether you are looking for a way to add sparkle for your table or a unique teacher gift Stampin' Up! has the solutions. I would be thrilled to get this candle from someone.

Where did I get my Mojo?

Inspired by a fellow Pal, Shannon Jaramillo. I took a battery operated pillar candle (you can get these by the half dozen at Costco) and added some pizazz. It started with a 2" band of Red Glimmer Paper.  Then I stamped the leaves and poinsettia from the Joyful Christmas Stamp Set with Versamark Ink and used a green embossing powder and Stampin' Up Cherry Cobbler Emboss Powder. The embossed elements are super easy to cut out and layer.  Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details provide the holly berries finishing touch.

Tips: I used Stampin' Up's Multipurpose Glue for the red glimmer band and had some difficulty with it setting.  So I simply used my heat gun to heat up the wax slightly and it magically stuck in place!  Craft glue dots were the best solution to getting the pointsettia and leaves to stick to the red glimmer paper.

Need more ideas on holiday gifts and creative packaging ideas?  Stampin' Up is currently featuring a speacial Festive Flurry Ornatment Kit.  You get all you need to make 10 of these beautiful 3D snowflake ornaments.  All you need to add is a hot glue gun!

Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge #179

It's time for another Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge! I really like the colors is this week's challenge:

Where did my Mojo come from?

Well some of it came from the fact that I had limited Rich Razzleberry card stock so I knew I needed to use Rich Razzleberry ink as my main resource to meet the color challenge.  So as the saying goes "Necessity is the mother of invention".

I grabbed the Wonderfall stamp set and the Autumn Accents Die and made the leaf using Rich Razzleberry.  The Crumb Cake seam binding ribbon adds the missing color to my card.

Now to put the elements together…  The Stampin' Up1 Stripes Embossing Folder added much needed dimension to the Whipser White card stock, yet I only applied it to the bottom section of the card stock. Rich Razzleberry was used to create the sentiment from the Happy Day stamp set for the top of the card. A Crushed Curry candy dot was the finishing touch.

Here was another version I did…

I think the Whisper White base provides a crisper look.  Which one do you prefer? Leave me a comment to let me know!

Thanks for stopping by today.  Cheers,
