Lovely as a Tree Masculine Birthday Card

Stampin Up Lovely As A Tree Masculine Card ideas Michelle Gleeson SU Stampinup

I need several masculine birthday cards for December birthdays. Lovely as a Tree is the perfect stamp set for a masculine card. I have been a demonstrator for five years now and I just purchased this stamp set this past summer. I believe this is one of the longest running stamp sets for Stampin’ Up! Now that I have used it I understand why it is so popular. The images stamp flawlessly.

I stamped it in Early Espresso and then using a sponge dauber blended Soft Sky for the wintery sky and a mix of River Rock (retired) and Crumb Cake for the ground. I used my Old Olive Watercolor Pencil to add some depth to the grass at the base of the trees.

The base of the card is Thick Very Vanilla card stock. The Wood Textures DSP paper stack provides the warm wood backdrop. The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp Brushstroke Sentiments.

I hope you have a fabulous week!

Celebrate the Season for GDP#114

Stampin Up Tags & Trimmings Concord & 9th Ornamental Stamp GDP#114 Michelle Gleeson

The day after Thanksgiving we pull out our Christmas decorations, put on holiday music and begin celebrating the Christmas season. So I will kick off the holiday season on StampinMojo with this card inspired by the Global Design Project Sketch Challenge.

The sentiment from SU Tags & Trimmings was stamped in Versamark and heat embossed in Basic Black Embossing Powder on Vellum. The holly is from Concord & 9th’s Ornamental Stamp Set. I used SU Stampin’ Blends (Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive) to color the holly. I am loving coloring with these markers, it is so easy to blend the color it really makes you feel like an artist.

Thankful and Grateful

Concord & 9th Dahlia stamp set and die Thank you card ideas Michelle Gleeson

Happy Thanksgiving! Just a quick post to wish everyone a wonderful thanksgiving stuffed with love and happiness. While it hasn’t been the easiest of years here at the Gleeson house, we remain grateful for all the wonderful people and happenings in our life. We are truly blessed.

I have become obsessed with Concord & 9th’s releases lately. Today’s cards were created as thank you notes to friends who made my birthday a very special event for me. The centerpiece to these cards is the new Dahlia Stamp and Die set from Concord & 9th. I was swooning over this when I saw it and could not wait to get my hands on it.

Each card was created using Stampin’ Up! Note cards and envelopes (whisper white and very vanilla) and SU inks. The Dahlia stamp is a turnabout stamp which allows you to ink each turn in a separate color.

The sentiment here is from the SU All Things Thanks stamp set. I adore the simple font.

Here you can see I used the coordinating Dahlia die to emboss the petals rather than another set of inked petals. There are endless combinations to make this stamp set look different.

Thanks for stopping by! Happy Thanksgiving,

Michelle

GDP Color Challenge with Blooms Fill In Bundle

Concordand9th Blooms Fill In GDP109 Celebration card idea Michelle Gleeson

Today I am using the same stamp set as I did yesterday but I took it up a notch with some Gold Embossing Powder and use of dies. The color combination is inspired by this week’s Color Challenge from the Global Design Project.

The sentiment was cut from the Seasons of Cheer Dies from Concord & 9th. I cut the word out twice, glued them together and then covered it in Glossy Accents for the shine. ♥ A few SU Black Rhinestones add more shimmer to the center of the flowers.

I stamped the background twice but on the second version I focused only on inking the center two flowers. Then using the coordinating die cut out the floral sprigs. Can you see the bloom that is mounted up on Stampin’ Dimensionals for depth?

I added the second bloom that I cut out to the inside of the card.

A special thanks to the Global Design team for this great color combination. I had such fun bringing it to life. What do you think? It is a departure from my clean and simple approach, too busy? I love hearing from you.

Cheers,

Michelle
