A quick post this morning to share a card I created for a friend who recently lost her mom. I decided to use the Tic Tac Toe Challenge board as my inspiration, here is the board.

I chose to play the bottom row across – Die cut, Sentiment and floral.

The card design is simple and dramatic in black and white. My friend is artistic and a classic movie fan so I thought the striking black, white and grey were perfect.

The floral design was created using the Altenew Floral Cover Die A and B. I adhered Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets to my card stock and then cut out each of the dies. Then you simply layer them one on top of the other.

The sentiment is a Verve stamp called Deepest Sympathy. I have had it for some time and just love the flourish font style. I stamped it in SU Basic Black Archival ink and heat embossed with Clear Emboss powder for a shiny and textured finish. A few Nuvo Simply White Crystal Drops provide the finishing touch.

Sometimes a clean and simple card is all you need to convey your thanks. Here I used the Remarkable You stamp set. The large floral images are stunning all on their own. A piece of Color Theory Designer Series Paper provides an interesting backdrop without overpowering the image.

To color the images I used my Watercolor Pencils, Stampin’ Write Markers and my Aqua Painter. The colors used were Pear Pizzazz, Always Artichoke, and Daffodil Delight. The flower was stamped on a separate piece of Watercolor Paper, colored and then cut out with my Paper Snips. It is a super easy image to fussy cut. A few Stampin’ Dimensionals were used to mount the flower on the card.

The sentiment from the Remarkable You stamp set was masked to isolate the I’m so grateful portion of the sentiment. Droplets of Crystal Effects and a small bow of Natural (Gold) Trim provide the finishing touches.

This week’s sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches is fun and provides a lot of options.

I decided to go with a fall theme using Stampin’ Up’s Vintage Leaves. The color palette is Fresh Fig, Crumb Cake and Cajun Craze.

The Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate adds a bit of whimsy. And the sentiment is from the Flirty Flamingo stamp set. I love the font in this set.

Stampin Up Oh So Eclectic Bundle Embossing Paste Birthday Card Ideas Michelle Gleeson Stampinup SU

The Oh So Eclectic Bundle was not on my wish list from the annual catalog. I loved the framelits but thought I could live without this set. I was wrong. The more I saw beautiful cards, tags, and gifts created with it, I had to have it.

This was my first inking of this set and I used inspiration from a card by Stesha Bloodhart. First I created a pretty background using one of the Pattern Party Decorative Masks. I used Nuvo Mother of Pearl Embellishment Mouse rather than Embossing Paste. Isn’t the shine stunning as a backdrop?

The flowers were colored in Tranquil Tide and Berry Burst. The leaves are stamped in Lemon Lime Twist. I just can’t stop using this color. Before the flowers and Leaves were cut with the coordinating dies, I stamped the center of the flowers with Versmark and added Gold Stampin’ Embossing Powder and heat set it for a fun shimmer to the flower centers. Then the flowers and leaves were mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The inside sentiment is Stylized Birthday in Berry Burst. The font just makes me smile. Did you see the fun envelope flap? I used the Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper to coordinate with the front of the card.

A few Rhinestone Basic Jewels add the finishing touch on the front of the card.
