Welcoming a beautiful baby girl

  11-13-2013

Perhaps I shouldn't say this, but I LOVE this card.  The Stampin' Up! Dazzling Diamonds takes the card from cute baby card to a WOW baby card.

Where did my Mojo come from?

I do not have baby stamp sets due to where I am in my life right now.  So when I need to make a baby card I rely on using other stamp sets in a unique way.  I recently created a card with the Zoo Babies stamp set (see that post here) and I wanted to do something different.  Once again I did a search in Pinterest.  Nothing was catching my eye until I found a card with a rattle on the front.  That was all I needed.  There was no name to acknowledge for the inspiration, so whoever originated the idea – Thank You!

The rattle was easy to create with my circle punches and a thin slice of Pink Pirouette card stock.  I stamped my Versamark Stamp pad half-way up the large circle then sprinkled with Stampin' Up's Heat n' Stick powder.  With a little heat from my heat gun the powder turns sticky.  Then you sprinkle on the Dazzling Diamonds and work it into the area.  Shake off the excess. Then step back and go WOW!

I used the Scallop Trim Boarder punch for the finishing touch on the rattle.  This created a clean border between the dazzling diamonds and the "plain" side of the rattle.

A little ribbon finishes it all off.

Thanks for stopping by.  Leave me a comment and let me know what your favorite stamp set is for baby cards?

Come back tomorrow for another Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge!

Cheers,

Michelle

  1. Love this card. I don’t have exactly the right stuff to make it, but maybe I can come up with something similar with what I have 🙂 Thanks for sharing this.
