Last week my best friend celebrated her birthday. We typically do not exchange gifts yet sometimes we find something that is just perfect for the occasion and we break the rules.
My project was CASE’d (Copy And Selectively Edit) from a beautiful project Emma Goddard created for her best friend. When I saw her project I new I wanted to CASE it.
This photo was taken when Kathy and her daughter (my goddaughter) came for Spring Break. It was the BEST girls week and I wanted to capture the joy of being together.

The shadow box came from Michael’s. The flowers were created using SU Floral Essence stamp set and coordinating punch. I also added some leaves using SU Leaf Punch and dies from SU Magnolia Memory in vellum. Some flowers were fussy cut and were easy to cut. I am not one of those designers who loves to fussy cut because my perfectionistic tendencies get in the way.
The sentiment was created by citing three sets of letters from Retired Silver Matte paper using Concord & 9th Simple Serif Alphabet Dies and layering them for depth.
I hope I have inspired you to create something beautiful today. Do you exchange birthday gifts with your best friend? I’d love to hear from you.
Cheers, Michelle
This is such a beautiful keepsake, Michelle! I’m sure Kathy will certainly treasure it.
This is Awesome Michelle! Shadow boxes are so fun, I’ve been doing a bunch with Stamping Bella images. Your color combo is perfect.
