Beautiful Washi Tape Flowers

When I saw the Floral Essence Washi Tape in the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog I was intrigued and added it to my first order.

When it arrived I immediately opened it and placed the petals on the corner of a A2 card. It was super fun to see the flower come alive. And then I put the card to the side because I wasn’t really sure what I wanted to do with it.

Over the weeks I continued to add petals and play with that initial card…

… I am pleased with the result. The Floral Essence Washi Tape includes the vintage washi that is on the outer border of the card. Then I added a thin strip of Rich Raspberry card stock followed by a retired washi that also uses Soft Suede.

The dots from the Painted Harvest stamp set were added in Soft Suede ink and add a fun element tying in the Soft Suede border nicely.

Here you can see that I repeated the border on the envelope flap.

After creating the first layer of petals add the second layer only adhering two-thirds of the petal. On the top third use your Stampin’ buddy to remove the stickiness on the top third. This gives the flower the dimension you see here. I added retired Very Vanilla Enamel Dots to the centers of the flowers.

A few Nuvo Dots were added to the card to mimic the flower centers.

I hope I have inspired you to give this Floral Essence Washi Tape a try. It is a very unique product and fun to create with.

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. I love the second layer of 2/3’s. it “reminds” me of a pansy :). I like the Whole card too and love the colors and accents you used- gwen

    • Gwen, thank you for your kind comments. It really was an evolution as I learned the options with the washi. I hope you will give it a try.
