Wedded Bliss

Happy Saturday!  I woke up this morning thinking it was Friday and oh what a delight to realize it was Saturday…happy dance!

Wedded Bliss

Today's card was created for a colleage who is getting married today.  She was so nervous this week as she anticipated her big day.  I hope it is all she dreamed it would be.

This card is really very simple and straight forward.  The base of the card is Very Vanilla.  The next layer is DSP is from the All Abloom Paper Stack.  (I love the colors in this DSP.)  Then I added a 2" band of Very Vanilla and wrapped with Blushing Bride  1/4" Cotton Ribbon.  The senitment is from Tag Talk.  I stamped it once in Strawberry Slush and once in Crushed Curry.  The Bracket Punch and 1" Square Punch made creating the added dimension a cinch.  Oh, I love the ease of using punches.

Then I added a border of DSP to the envelope.  I forgot to take a photo of the inside before I gave it to her.  But I used the sentiment from the Big News stamp set.  Another keeper stamp set.

So that is it – super easy.  Enjoy your Saturday and I hope you are able to get time to create in your weekend.

Cheers,

Michelle

Four Feathers and a Color Challenge

It is Thursday and another Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge.  I love the colors this week.  Check them out…

PPA227

They are bright and crisp together while still keeping us in the Fall color palette.  Being squeezed for time these days I am looking for clean and simple card creations.  And that is what I did this week.

PPA 227 Gleeson

I started with a Whisper White Note Card and Envelope.  Then I used Washi Tape from the Seasonal Snapshot Project Life Accessory Pack.  This is packed full of fun embellishments and certainly not limited to use with Project Life.  Then I stamped each color using a different stamp from the Four Feathers Stamp Set.  A Pumpkin Pie button from the Brights collection tied with linen thread is a nice finishing touch.

The sentiment is from the Something to Say stamp set and matches the clean style of the card.

I do hope you will play along with the pals this week.  As you can see you don't need to go over the top when creating your cards and still have a wow factor.

Freshly Made Sketches #161

After spending a wonderful (and chilly) weekend in Chicago with our son who is at Northwestern University, I am relaxing in my craft room as I get laundry done in preparation to go back to work.  So this is a very quick post  as I am squeaking in to meet the FMS challenge deadline of noon PST.

FMS Gleeson

Here is the sketch for the challenge:

FMS161

I watned to create a clean card using the Color Me Autumn DSP.  Rather than use ribbon I created a border of acorns from the Gratitude for Days Photopolymer stamp set.  I simply light pencil line gave me the platform for perfect alignment fo the tiny acorns.  The Autumn Wooden Element was colored with the darkest of the Crumb Cake Blendabilities.  Then sentiment comes from the Mingle All The Way stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by!

Simple Saturday Birthday

Happy Birthday

This is a one layer card that packs a punch.

I started with Stampin' Up's Note Card and Envelope in Whisper White.  Then using Mememto Black Ink I stamped a border from the Draw the Line stamp set.  Using the eraser from a pencil (note it had never been used) I dipped the eraser into my ink pad and then onto the card to add the splash of color.  The colors I chose were Tempting Turquoise, Strawberry Slush, Crushed Curry and Wild Wasabi.  I love how this turned out.

I cannot take credit for this idea.  Rather I was inspired by Brian King and his amazing Halloween card which you can see here.

The Happy Birthday stamp is a random stamp I picked up in my travels.  I loved the font.  You cannot see from the photo that party hat is colored in with Strawberry Slush and Tempting Turquoise.

My intention was for this card to be a crisp single layer card.  However, when I was done I noted three small specks of tempting turquoise ink.  So I improvised and added three stars punched from Sliver Glimmer Paper using the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.  I think it added the perfect amount of bling.

Inside Happy Birthday

The inside of the card is just a simple and whimsical.

I hope you have a wonderful Simple Saturday.  Thanks for stopping by.
