More Christmas Bliss

Happy Thursday!  And I am here with a card for the Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge.  Let's check it out…

Gleeson PPA 230

And here is the Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge:

PPA230

I am tickled with how this turned out.  It is the only the second time I inked up my Festival of Trees stamp set.  Oh, why did I wait so long?!  This set is a photopolymer stamp set and it was a cinch to line up the "ornaments" in Cherry Cobbler and stamp them on the Baked Brown Sugar Tree.  I added some dazzle by going over the Cherry Cobbler ornaments with my red Stickles.  They just glisten in the light now.

The base of the card is Very Vanilla. Then I added a layer of Baked Brown Sugar just 1/4" smaller followed by a piece of Under the Tree Specialty DSP another 1/4" smaller and popped up on Stampin' Dimensionals.  I then stamped the sentiment from the Christmas Bliss Photopolymer Stamp Set in Cherry Cobbler on a piece of Very Vanilla ( 3 3/4 x 2 1/4).  It was also popped up on Stampin' Dimensionals.

Then I added the tree which had been punched out using the coordinating tree punch.  You have to love our punches, it makes crafting quick and easy.

Make sure you stop by Pals Paper Arts and see what the other design team members created.  We hope you will be inspired to play along.  Remember you don't need to have a blog to play.  You can upload from Facebook, Splitcoast Stampers, Pinterest, etc.

My holiday decorations are up.  I am one of those people who can't have enough twinkle lights.  My husband has come to learn my mantra – we need more lights!  It is the one time of year I let the little girl inside me, guide me.  Oh it is so fun.  What do you do that makes the holiday season special for you?

Cheers,

Michelle

Crafting for A Cure

During the first week of December our organization celebrates a week of giving to others.  We call it Humanitarian Week.  Each day we focus our attention on raising funds for one of our six charities.  I voluntereed to create jars to collect pocket change for Relay for Life.

I found the jars at Old Time Pottery and then using Microsoft Word and various Stampin' Up! supplies I dressed up the jars.

While I know this is not unique or special, it is a reminder how we can leverage something we love to do to help others.  I am hoping the added bling this year brings in more pocket change.

Today is the final day of the Online Extravaganza Sale event at Stampin' Up!  Just click here to start shopping!

Thanks for stopping by.  See you Thursday for a new PPA Color Challenge!

Festival of Trees for PPA 229

Oh, how I love this long holiday weekend.  I have never been drawn to the Black Friday Frenzy of shopping.  I spend my Black Friday decking the halls!  It is all coming together well this year.  I have not had much time to craft as I have had company all weekend.  I got up early (nothing new for me) and grabbed some card making time this morning.  I decided to give the PPA Sketch Challenge a try.

Here is the sketch:

I thought about using stars, snowflakes and ornaments but they had all been done already.  So I decided to try using trees!  At least it is creative…

The garland on the trees is Gold Heat Embossed.  The photo does not do it justice.

Many Merry Stars Wreath

Merry Stars Wreath

When I saw the Holiday Supplement I couldn't wait to get the Many Merry Stars Simply Created Kit.  Then I went to Atlanta for World Card Making Day and saw the stars in person.  I immediately thought, " I will make a couple of sets of these and have a Many Merry Stars Christmas Tree!"  When the time came, I ordered three sets of stars.  Putting the stars together takes some time.  And due to the humid climate I live in I had to augment each star with more adhesive.  SO I decided to postpone making ALLthe stars and created a wreath rather than a tree.  (Now I have until next year to complete the stars for the tree.)

I cannot take credit for the idea of the wreath.  The very talented fStampin Up Artisan Design Team Member Erica Cerwin at Pink Buckaroo Designs inspired me.  She is uber talented and comes up with extraordinary 3D projects.

The base of the wreath is a flat wire wreath from Hobby Lobby ($1.99) that I wrapped with Burlap Ribbon.  Then with my hot glue in hand I arranged my stars and glued them to the wreath.  That was the very easy part.

I can't wait to hang this on the door to my office at work.

One more thing to share.  Yesterday was my 30th Wedding Anniversary.  I don't feel old enough to be saying that but I guess I am.  I thought you might find this fun…then and now.

Anniversary

The time has flown by.  The inside of my card to John used the stamp "Life doesn't have to be Perfect to be Wonderful".  Over 30 years, life definitely had days that were less than perfect but our life together has been wonderful.

We have company arriving today for the holiday weekend.  I am looking forward to having the house filled with love and laughter.  I hope your holiday is filled with the same.
