Pals Paper Arts Challenge #233

This is the last Pals Paper Arts Challenge of the year.  I took some creative latitude on this sketch.

PPA 233 card

Here is the sketch:

2014_PPA233

As you can see I rotated the sketch.

The base of the card is Garden Green. I used a pattern from the Trim the Tree DSP Paper Stack, now on the Clearance Rack, for the special band and bordered it in Garden Green.

Then I used Blessed Easter, a retired stamp from last year's Occasions catalog.  The 2015 Occasions Catalog (goes on sale January 6th) has another beautiful tulip stamp called Love is Kindness.  The image was stamped with Memento Black Ink and then colored using Old Olive and Daffodil Delight Blendabilities.  Note that you can get these Blendabilitites markers FREE during Sale-A-Bration when you spend $50 you get a FREE item from the Sale-A-Bration catalog.

The sentiment is from the 2015 Occasions Catalog called Crazy About You.  This set has 33 Photopolymer stamps to give you a lot of sentiments for your Spring card making.  I quick snip to create the flagged end and the card is complete.

More PPA 233

I know there is a lot of white space on this card.  For me this says simple elegance. I hope you like it as well.

There is still time to play with the Pals this week.  So won't you join in and play with this week's challenge?

Cheers,

Michelle

Sending Wishes Your Way

Occasions sneak peek

Wow, it feels like forever since my last post.  The holiday list of tasks to accomplished kept me from my computer and craft room.

I hope you had a wonderful holiday with your family. Ours is always a little more hectic as our oldest son was born on Christmas Eve. He arrived three months early so that was one special and scary Christmas. This year he turned 21!  We have always tried to make his birthday special while many people are beginning their Christmas celebrations.  We went out to this amazing family owned authentic Italian restaurant in downtown Naples, L'Angolo. A must if you are ever in Naples Florida.

Our Christmas was perfect.  We enjoyed each other's company, had a great time opening presents, and simply relaxed.

Let's get to the card.  Isn't this fun and refreshing?  While the reds, greens, and glimmer of Christmas is fun I am very ready for more variety in my projects.

As demonstrator I get access to the new catalogs and product about a month before our customers.  This is one of my favorite aspects of being a demonstrator.  The 2015 Occasions Catalog is amazing and customers can begin ordering on January 6th! This year Stampin' Up! is running their annual Sale-A-Bration event with the launch of the Occasions catalog.

What is Sale-A-Bration?  A chance to earn FREE product from the special Sale-A-Brati0n catalog with every $50 or product you order.  I can only show you the front covers of the catalogs for now…

Card Recipe:

  • Whisper White (4 1/2" x 4 1/2")
  • Coastal Cabana to frame the DSP and my sentiment
  • NEW Best Year Ever DSP  (FREE through Sale-A-Bration)
  • Sentiment is from the NEW Butterfly Basics stamp set
  • Gorgeous Butterfly in Calypso Coral using the NEW Butterflies Thinlits Dies

A super easy card and oh so pretty with the butterfly flying off the page.

Sneak Peek 2

I am working on more sneak peeks for you as we begin the countdown to January 6th and the new catty launch.

If you don't have a demonstrator and want a catalog please email me and I will be happy to send you one.

Cheers,

Michelle

A Classic Combination

This week for the Pals Paper Arts Challenge we have a great sketch by Margaret Moody.  Since this is Design Team One's last challenge for 2014 I knew I wanted to create a card to celebrate the new year.

Here is this week's Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge badge:

Basic Black with Silver to me is a classic New Year's combination.  My husband (John) and I rarely go out on NYE.  We have a tradition of enjoying a long drawn out Fondue dinner with our sons.  They have even included their girlfriends over the years.   John's birthday is on New Year's so we try to keep the celebration about him on the 1st.

It is always difficult to photograph a project with gold or silver shimmer as it acts as a reflector.  The small border of silver is very striking in person.  The sentiment from the Mingle All the Way stamp set, was created with Silver Embossing Powder.

As the year winds down I want to thank you for being a loyal blog follower.  My goal is simple, to share what I love and to inspire you to get your creative Mojo going and create something beautiful.

Cheers,

Michelle

A special guest

Today I want to share a project that was done by a young woman in my office.  We had a CRAZY week last week.  We joked that we had a week of Monday's.  Everything from a water leak to computer gremlins.  To keep spirits up she made these sleds for some of her teammates.

Courtney

Now isn't that just the cutest gift idea?  A simple, inexpensive project you could even do with kids to give to someone they love.

So Happy Monday!  And Courtney, thank you for brightening everyone's spirits with your amazing smile, calm demeanor, and chocolate treats.

Cheers,

Michelle
