Starry Night

Starry Night

I have been trying to get my Stampin' Mojo going again and sometimes that means going outside our normal style.  The other night as I was brainstorming card design ideas it came to me to use the new Confetti Stars Punch to create a starry night over the holiday houses.  This card is my result.

I placed a strip of Silver Glimmer Paper behind the Confetti Stars to make it look like twinkling stars overhead.

When I saw the Holiday Home stamp set with matching framelits I knew it would be at the top of my holiday order.  These houses will had value to my stamping collection for years to come.  The houses are each embossed in White Emboss Powder and cut out using the coordinating framelits.  The string of christmas lights are also embossed in white and then the bulbs are colored with my Blendabilities markers.

All the layers and elements are raised up on Stampin' Dimensionals to give the card more dimension.  You can see that better in the next photo.

Starry Nights 2

When my husband saw the card he said, "Oh I like that one" and then he realized it had Christmas decorations.  The christmas decorations are definitely subtle.

I am pleased with the result of bringing my idea to life.  I would love to hear what you think of the result.

Thanks for stopping by.

Just Sayin’ – Happy Birthday for my Brother

Birthday Bubble

My brother celebrates his birthday tomorrow.  It is probably bold to send him a card teasing him about his age since I am older.

My life has been crazy and time in my craft room limited so my Stampin' Mojo seems to be at a low.  However Pinterest provides a lot of inspiration.  This card was CASE'd from a card I saw on Pinterest and now I cannot find the card to give proper credit.  So thank you! to the original designer.

I did add a sentiment on the inside…

Birthday Bubble inside

I think this sentiment is fun and appropriate after you reach say…40.  You can also see that I lined the inside of the envelope.  I did add triangles to decorate the front of the envelope as well using the What's Your Type? Photopolymer Stamp Set.

Thanks for stopping by!  Happy Stampin'

Bullseye Birthday

Bullseye Birthday

We have an employee newsletter at my office and each month I select an associate to interview for the Employee Spotlight article.  I really enjoy the opportunity to take some time out and really get to know more about a colleague.  One question I often ask is "tell me something no one knows about you".  This has brought forth many fun hobbies, adventures and interests.  A few months ago while doing one of these interviews I learned a colleague loved playing darts.  I had no idea.  It was fun to share that new found info with everyone in our organization.

This week that associate is celebrating a birthday so I could not resist creating a card unique to her interests.  I cannot take credit for the design as I was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest by Wendi from Stampsational.

The card was fun and easy to create with the use of the Circle Framelits.  The sentiment came from the fun stamp set, Endless Birthday Wishes.

I would love to hear something no one knows about you!  Leave me a comment.

Seize the Cake Birthday Card

Seize the cake 2

This card was CASE'd from the very talented LeAnne Pugliese at Inkypinkies. My card is an unusual sized card, 3" x 7" and uses the retired Birthday Basics DSP.  This DSP is still available through MDS.  The unusual size was necessitated by the fact that the size of my single piece of DSP was 3" by 6 3/4".  It made me happy to know that I used every piece of this DSP.

The cake is from the Embellished Events stamp set, truly a versatile stamp set.  The sentiment is from Something to Say.  I just the font in this set.

Seize the cake 3

My StampinWrite Markers made inking the cake easy as pie.

While I used retired DSP and some retired ribbon my hope is that you have been inspired to create today.  Make it a wonderful day.

Stampin' hugs,

Michelle
