Hello Fall

PPA 218 - Gleeson

Happy Thursday!  Today is another Pals Challenge.  This week we have our Color Challenge and I love the color combination.  Thse colors say Fall to me, so I wanted to welcome Fall in!

PPA218

The textured background was created by simply inking up my Woodgrain Textured Embossing Folder and then running it through the Texture Boutique Machine (the Big Shot would work as well).  I like the graininess the ink created on the card stock.  I simply washed my Embossing folder with warm water and toweled it dry.

The feathers are from one of the wonderful Bundles in the Holiday Catalog.  These are so simple and fun to create.  The sentiment is from another new  stamp set, For All Things.   A couple of circle punches, a piece of Blackberry Bliss Ribbon and some dimensionals give the card the finishing touches.

I couldn't resist stamping another feather inside the card.

You can check out the other amazing designs created by the rest of the design team here.  We hope you will play along with us.

Thanks for stopping by,

Michelle

A Yippee-Skippee Birthday

Yippee-Skippee Birthday

Although it is Tuesday it will seem like a Monday for many of us.  My day is going to packed with meetings and an overflowing To Do list.  The last two weeks I have been working on nothing but the roll out of a new software program and now it is time to get back to all my other responsibilities.  In addition, I will be away on business Wednesday through Friday so I have a lot to get accomplished in a short time in the office this week.  Don't worry I did get a few posts ready for you!

This month we have a lot of birthday's at my office.  This card is for one of my male colleagues.  It was inspired by a card created by one of the Stampin Up design team members some time ago.  I used some older DSP [base is Natural Composition Specialty Paper and the 1" strip of Chevron DSP is from Parkers Patterns].  You could recreate both patterns in these DSP's using current stamps.  Use the Hardwood background stamp and the Positively Chevron background stamp OR the chevron in Work of Art.  I hate to waste DSP and I have tons of it to use up.  I can't seem to help myself when there is new DSP.

The square is 3" and the underlying Very Vanilla piece is 1/4" smaller.  I stamped the sentiment from Yippee Skippee in the center of the Very Vanilla card stock in Early Espresso.  Then I took a Post-It note and punched out the Decorative Label.  (Sorry for the bad photos…)

Decorative label

I took the punched out Decorative Label and placed it on the 3" Square piece of Daffodil Delight to center it.  Then I laid the above piece so the punched out label fit back into the punched area.

Label

The stickiness of the Post-It held the position while I then punched out the label on the Daffodil Delight card stock for the perfect placement.

The "happy" from my sentiment was added to the Daffodil Delight using my StampinWrite Marker and the Stamp-a-ma-jig.

I hope you have a lot of happy in your day.  Did these tips inspire you?

Making Spirits Bright!

Making Spirits Bright

I hope your Labor Day Weekend is all you want it to be.  I have successfully traded rooms with our youngest son for my craft room.  I thought it would take all three days of the weekend however I am successfully sitting in my new craft room creating this post.  I can't wait to begin crafting later in my new space.

Let's get to this fun card.  I hope you have had time to page through the new holiday catalog.  There are so many great items and many will be tools and stamp sets you can use all year round.  In the card above I did use products from the Holiday catty.

The card size is 4 1/4" x 4 1/4", a fun size and no problem to mail with the Envelope Punch Board. The stamp set is called Making Spirits Bright and it contains festive stamps you can use all year.  Don't you love the Rhinestones at the center of the flowers?  This DSP is from the Trim the Tree Paper Stack.  These paper stacks are perfect for making cards and lining envelopes.

Making Spirts Bright 2

I colored the cocktail using my Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight and Old Olive Blendibilities.  I love using these markers.

Last night I had a Girls Night Out with three other fabulous women.  We just sat and gabbed, sipped wine, ordered take out, and laughed.  It certainly made my spirits bright, I just love these ladies.

I do plan to have more posts for you this week.  I have had a difficult time getting any crafting time therefore no posts…

For a True Friend

PPA 217

I am blessed to have wonderful people in my life.  Many of them I don't get to see that often and sometimes we don't even get to talk that often yet we know we are there for each other.

This week we launched a new document management system at my office.  I worked all last weekend and looong days this week.  On Monday night my husband got stuck at work. Our oldest son is back at school and the younger son and I were knee deep in resolving an issue with this new program at my office.  Then I suddenly remembered – MOJO!  How could I forget Mojo our beloved dog?  Well I called one of our neighbors, and one of the wonderful women in my life, and she rescued Mojo.  Thank goodness dogs can't tell time!

This card was inspired by this weeks Pals Paper Arts Challenge #217.

A clean and simple sketch and I tried to stay true to the sketch.  I think the red and green from the flower pop against the black background.

Today the Holiday catalog went LIVE for all customers.  Shop all the holiday products now with StampinMojo click here.

I hope to get some time in my craft room this weekend and get some posts ready!  Thanks for stopping by.
