Year in Review – 2020

SWFL Sunrise

I am an early riser and thoroughly enjoy sitting with my coffee out on our lanai each morning. Yesterday morning my iPhone provided me a video of photos from 2020. I loved looking at the 1:10 video and thinking about the events or moments captured in the photos. Sure there are many events that were not captured nor adequately celebrated such as our son’s graduation from Grad School however the milestone was still achieved.

I have been guilty of looking at 2020 and focusing on the challenges we faced and continue to face. However for each of us there are memories worth taking in and reflecting on. So on this eve of the new year I am ready to shift my energy to more productive thinking and actions.

For the last five years I have participated in Ali Edwards’ One Little Word program. I have not always documented it however it has been a wonderful touchpoint throughout this year. My word for 2020 was COURAGE, I had no idea how much I would lean into that word.

My One Little Word for 2021?  THRIVE – to grow and prosper. I am looking forward to reflecting and focusing on living this word fully in 2021. If you are interested in the program check out Ali Edwards One Little Word Class.

Cheers to 2021!

Calendar for 2021

As we turn the page to the new year, I want to share the calendars created as gifts for colleagues and friends this Christmas. I used Stampin’ Up! products as well as Concord & 9th, Simon Says Stamp, PinkFresh Studios and The Greetery. Let’s take a look…

Concord & 9th 2021 Calendar Cards Michelle Gleeson Monthly Calendar Ideas

The calendars are from Concord & 9th. While they are printed on heavy card stock with a nice smooth finish, they were smaller this year than last year. I wanted them a bit larger so each month was mounted on a Stampin Up card stock 4″ x 5 3/4″.

I did purchase the Concord & 9th month dies and I used them on the calendar set above however it was a lot of work to cut multiples of each month and layer them so I opted to stamp the month. The month stamp set is from an old Stampin’ Up! Paper Pumkin kit. I love the font.

Creating these calendars is a labor of love. All ink, paper and embellishments are from Stampin Up. I am going to try to create my own calendar template so I can work on these throughout the year rather than push to get them all done in the middle of the holiday season.

I hope you enjoyed seeing this project and perhaps you will join me in creating calendars throughout the year for 2022.

Happy New Year!

Healing Hugs

A colleague had surgery the week before Christmas. I wanted to send her a card to make her smile. This bright and cheery card did the trick but may have been the painkillers keeping a smile on her face.

The stamp set is Healing Hugs from Simon Says Stamp. Over Black Friday weekend I ordered the die and I am so glad I did.

I used Copic Markers to color the flowers. The centers of the daisies were also accented with Crystal Effects for some shine and texture.

The card base is Daffodil Delight and then layered with retired Pumpkin Pie DSP. A bit of sunshine in the middle of winter.

I hope you are enjoying your long holiday weekend.

Stay safe and healthy.

Michelle

Merry Christmas!

Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas. I will be back to blogging soon and will catch you up on the big hiatus from crafting and blogging.

May your day be filled with peace and wonder.

Cheers, Michelle
