The most common cards I need are birthday cards and thank you cards. When I see a stamp and/or die set with sentiments for either of these types of cards I give them serious consideration to become part of my crafty stash. Last month Concord & 9th came out with this great Big Thanks Stamp and Die set and I fell in love with it.
The die is all one piece and here I cut it out of (retired) SU Baked Brown Sugar card stock. This easily allows you to recreate two cards quickly by using the die cut as well as the negative image as I did.
Use your stamp alignment tool (Stamparatus, Misti, etc) to line up each letter within the die to stamp the letters. Then you can add the die cut back in and also stamp the die. I stamped the die in Versamark and heat embossed the letters in White Embossing powder.
Crisp Whisper White, Night of Navy and Baked Brown Sugar provide a classic color palette for masculine thank you cards with a bit of whimsey.

Hello! Is your weekend going by as fast as mine? They are never long enough for sure.
Today’s post is a card I created for this week’s sketch challenge over at Global Design Project. Check it out
It took a while to translate what was in my head to a card. I struggled finding the right balance of DSP and color but I think I found it in this retired DSP from last season’s occasion catalog.
The SU Puzzle Pieces Thinlit Dies provide the focal point in the sketch, I was looking for a sentiment and thought this one from Well Said went well with the puzzle pieces. My husband and I have been married for 34 years and I believe we truly bring out the best in each other so this sentiment was perfect.
I hope you are enjoying your weekend and getting a little crafty time in.
As promised I have a few more cards for you using the Concord & 9th Fine Florals Bundle.I really had fun creating with this bundle over the weekend.
This card has a very modern look with the black and white image creating using Black Emboss Powder. It is so striking in person with the sheen from the embossing. The card base is Rich Razzleberry and the pop of green is Granny Apple Green. I love the paring of greens and purples. The sentiment is popped up on dimensional and a bit of Basic Black Baker’s Twine ties in the black and white theme. A few Basic Jewel Rhinestones and the card is complete.
This version uses Fresh Fig and Lemon Lime Twist. The color was added using the stamps included in the set. Then I cut out the outlines from Brushed Silver card stock using the Fine Floral Dies. The focal point is mounted on Basic Black card stock which was adhered to the Lemon Lime Twist card base. A few Black Nuvo Drops finish the card. The photo truly does not do this card justice.
And the final card uses Rich Razzleberry and Granny Apple Green again. This time I watercolored the larger flowers. I splattered Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint to add some sparkle. This time the card base is Basic Black and the matting is Lemon Lime Twist.
I hope you are having a fabulous week. Thanks for stopping by.
This past week we have had the most beautiful weather. We call it Chamber of Commerce Weather. Sunny, no humidity and in the 70’s. Needless to say you want/need to be outside. Since I work full time my weekends are my time to enjoy time outside. I also need/want time in my craft room. Thankfully I am an early riser so I can do both. Yesterday I played with my new Concord & 9th Fine Line Floral stamps and dies. I do not need anymore floral stamp sets however when I saw Angie of Concord & 9th demo this set I knew I had to have it. I have a lot of photos for you.
This first card was stamped in Memento Black ink and then again with Versarmark on Shimmery White card stock and heat embossed in Black Stampin’ Embossing Powder. Then I watercolored three of the flowers using Petal Pink, So Saffron, and Seaform Green.
A few Nuvo Drops and Old Olive Linen Thread add the finishing touch.
A peek at the inside sentiment.
This card was created using the fill-in floral images from the stamp set. Again using the same three colors. Using Stampin’ Up! Stitched Rectangle Dies the layers were layered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. (If you do not have this Stitched Rectangle Dies you NEED them!) The centers of the flowers and the sentiment were heat embossed in Simon Says Stamp Antique Gold Embossing Powder,
Again a few Nuvo Drops adorn the card to finish it off.
Love the detail of this set.
And here are the two cards together. I created a few more cards with this set in another color palette that I will share later this week. Be sure to stop back. Subscribe to ensure you don’t miss a post, you won’t get anything but my posts.
