Hot Foiling & Gathered Leaves

Stampin Up TheSpotChallenge#124 GDP#254 Gathered Leaves Dies Hot Foil Stamp Market Lots of Thanks Stamp Set Thank you card ideas Michelle Gleeson Stampunup SU

I have another fall card for you today. It was inspired by two challenges this week. Global Design Project Sketch and The Spot Color Challenge.

The Spot Challenge #124
GDP 254

I love the effect of using Hot Foiling. It creates a letter press foiled impression on the paper. While there are specially designed hot foil plates; many regular dies can be used to hot foil as I did here.

Using standard Stampin’ Up! Gathered Leaves Dies and my Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil system I created these beautiful gold foiled leaves. I love the gold outline of the leaves that was created with the foiling so I hand cut  the leaves rather than use the dies again to cut them.

The card base is Kraft card stock from a retired Memories & More note card set which I cut down to 5.5 x 4.5. Then I layered the Blackberry Bliss card stock that was embossed with the Old World Paper Textured Embossing Folder.

Some Gold thread was wound and placed under the sentiment strip that was mounted with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The sentiment from The Stamp Market Lots of Thanks stamp set and was heat embossed in gold then dies cut with SU Rectangle Die set. NOTE: this is THE most used die set in my craft room. A must have!

Then I added the leaves and few gold sequins provide the finishing touch.

All Stampin’ Up! products used are available on my online store. Thanks for stopping by!

Slimline Birthday Card

Quick post with lots of photos.

Using the Pink Fresh Studio Slimline dies I created this slimline card. The largest dies hangs over the Just Jade card base 8 1/2″ x 3 1/2″. The next die cut a piece of Just Jade card stock that I embossed with the Textile Embossing Folder. I embossed one end and then turned the card stock around to emboss the remaining card stock. The seam is hidden with the ribbon and focal point.

The color palette is Just Jade, Mint Macaron, So Saffron and Calypso Coral.

The Stitched So Sweetly dies provide the background for the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Peaceful Moments stamp set.

The inside of the card uses a coordinating sentiment from the same stamp set. A few elements from the Forever Fern bundle add color as well.

PALS August Blog Hop – My Happiest Season

Hello, welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month our Design Team is showcasing “My Happiest Season.” We hope you enjoy and will be inspired by them! Don’t forget to leave comments! We love hearing from you. At the end of my post, you will find the full line-up to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

My favorite time of year is Fall…crisp air, fall colors, sweater weather, new beginnings (with the start of a new school season), fall decorations, and more.

My project features the Gather Together Bundle, Gilded Autumn Specialty Designer Series Paper, new Envelope Dies, Metallic Card stock and sprigs from the Sunflowers Dies.

The large Leaves from the Gather Together stamp set were stamped in Cinnamon Cider onto Bumblebee and Very Vanilla card stock. Before the ink was dry I used a blender pen to smear the ink to create some shading. When the blending did not add enough color I added a bit more color from my Cinnamon Cider ink pad using the blender pen.

Then I die cut the stamped leaves, the embossed smaller maple leaf and two sprigs from the Sunflower dies.

Now to put everything together. Starting with Very Vanilla card base add a piece of Gilded Autumn DSP (4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″). Then a piece of the Gilded Autumn DSP was cut using an Envelope die and glued added onto the DSP base.

The leaves were layered with the Very Vanilla leaf adhered with Stampin Dimensionals while the other pieces were simply glued on. One Copper sprig was placed under the Bumblebee leaf while the other was tucked under the Very Vanilla leaf.

Gold cording from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo was tied in a bow and added to the base of the leaves with a glue dot. I love how this cord frays and adds the feel of wheat. A few gems add a bit more glam.

The sentiment from Gather Together was embossed in gold embossing powder and tucked in tight to the focal point.

More inspiration awaits! Use the Blog Hop Line-up below to visit the rest of this month’s Design Team. My fellow Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Mark your calendars for our next blog hop on September 9th when our theme is “It’s the Sentiment that Counts.” The Design Team will showcase a sentiment as the focal point of their project. Don’t miss the fun! Until then, please stay safe and have fun in your craft room.

Thanks for stopping by. Now don’t forget to check out the rest of the wonderful creations by the PALS.

Celebrate Summer & Sunflowers

I saw a card on Instagram @NorineHope and immediately wanted to CASE (Copy And Selectively Edit) it using Stampin’ Up! products.

Using (retired) Neutrals DSP I covered my Thick Whisper White card base using the polka dot DSP and then cut a 2″ x 4 1/4″ piece of the stripe DSP. Note that the stripes on the DSP were diagonal so I cut it to achieve the horizontal stripe.

Then I began making the sunflower.

The base of the sunflower was stamped in Bumblebee ink onto Bumblebee card stock using the Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set. The outline was then die cut in Daffodil Delight card stock and t adhered using liquid glue.

The leaves were stamped in Mossy Meadow ink onto Granny Apple Green card stock. One leaf was stamped in Granny Apple Green onto (retired) Lemon Lime Twist card stock. Then the outline was die cut using the Sunflowers Dies in Mossy Meadow card stock and adhered with liquid glue.

The sunflower was mounted to the card using Stampin Dimensionals to allow the leaves to be tucked underneath. Keep your dimensionals toward the center of the follow to allow you to tuck them under easily.

The center of the sunflower was painted with a generous application of clear Wink of Stella. Once it dried I added tiny drops of Nuvo Drops. This adds beautiful texture to the sunflower.

A bow of Gold cording from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack was added along with a few Wonderful Gems (Holiday Mini Catalog).

I had so much fun that I created a second oversized card 4 1/4″ x 6 1/2″.

The products used can be purchased here at my online store.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Cheers!
