Seasonal Snapshot for PPA 276

This week’s Pals Part Arts is hosting a sketch Challenge. It is another simple sketch, which are my favorite sketch challenges.

PPA 276 Sketch

The elements are small in the sketch so I searched my stamp sets for small images. I wanted to do something Christmas and found the perfect element within the Project Life by Stampin’ Up! Seasonal Snapshot stamp set. When I saw the font used for wicked, christmas and gather I knew I had to have this set.

StampinMojo, PPA 276, Seasonal Snapshot, Christmas Card

The card is very clean and looks pretty simple. The sentiment, Christmas tree, and star came from the Seasonal Snapshot stamp set. The tree lights are from the Peaceful Pines stamp set. Photopolymer stamps make isolating the tree lights and lining them up onto the stamped tree much simpler.

The star was stamped in Versamark and then heat embossed with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder.

The tree lights were stamped using the retired gold ink pad and then heat embossed with Clear Emboss Powder. I could have used Versamark and Gold Emboss Powder however I wanted to be able to see where I was stamping the lights exactly. If you are more confident in your ability to line up the lights – use Versamark and the Gold Embossing.

Is this too simple? I think it is simply sweet and would make me smile if I received it.

Make sure you visit Pals Paper Arts today and see what the other design team members created with this sketch.

Thanks for stopping by!

November Paper Pumpkin Kit Rocks!

On Saturday I received my November Paper Pumpkin Kit. While I have a zillion stamping and crafting supplies I still look forward to my orange box of joy to arrive. The anticipation of opening it, to see what fun project awaits me, is like a birthday present each month.

I love this month’s kit. Take a peek…

I immediately opened the kit and proceeded to create the cards while watching college football. Can a Saturday get any better than that?! I tweaked the Holly card from the directions just a smidge. I only wrapped the linen thread around the small polka dot square rather than the entire card front. I don’t like the ribbon to show on the inside front flap – silly right? I think it now looks like a small package on the front.

Here are some close ups:

I love the red enameled pearls for the berries.

SU November Paper Pumpkin, StampinMojoAt first I was not sure what this was and then I realized it is mistletoe. The pearls add such a beautiful finish. Yes, all these pieces come with the kit!

So I will ask you once again – WHY are you not subscribing to paper pumpkin yet? It would be a great gift for someone or for you to add to your wish list. Paper Pumpkin, Subscribe Now and subscribe today. If you don’t already have a demonstrator, please put Michelle Gleeson as your demonstrator.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a great day.

Serene Sympathy Card

On Tuesday two dear friends each lost their father. Both of these fathers had been suffering with Alzheimers. I am saddened for their loss yet we are all glad to see the suffering end for these fine men and their families. Here is a Serene Sympathy Card I made for one of my friends:

Serene Sympathy, StampinMojo, Sheltering Tee

My card was inspired by my upline Mary Fish. I love the colors and simplicity.

Serene Sympathy, StampinMojo, Sheltering Tree

The Sheltering Tree stamp set is so versatile. And since it is a Photopolymer stamp set it is a cinch to use.

It is a spectacular morning here in Southwest Florida. I hope it is a beautiful morning where you are today. Thanks for visiting StampinMojo today!

Wondrous Fall Wreath for Pals Paper Arts

We have another color challenge this week. While the colors are very fall oriented I did not want to create something with leaves (my go-to for Fall).

I purchased the Wondrous Wreath set last year and struggled with lining the leaves of the wreath up. I thought I would give it another try and I am so glad I did.

Gleeson PPA275

The key to the Wondrous Wreath and the coordinating framelits is aligning all the tabs for both cutting and stamping.

Cut out the center of the wreath first and then line up the first stamp (the one with the most leaves). I align the tabs at the top.  Okay this part if had successfully accomplished in the past but the next part I did not get until I created this card.

When you go to use the second stamp (the one with less leaves) the leaves you are stamping will exactly overlay leaves already stamped. This was the part I was doing wrong, I kept thinking these leaves filled in between the leaves already stamped and they don’t. AHA!

Then you stamp the berries. Again, lining up the tabs is what made all this work.

Cutting out the wreath is a piece of cake then.

Here are the PPA colors for this week that inspired my card…

I even added a bough of garland to the inside of my card. Now that I have this figured out I wanted to keep creating.

I am glad that I gave this stamp set another try. I really love this stamp set and the fact that Stampin’ Up! has added additional stamp sets to coordinate with the framelits.

What stamp set has given you difficult in the past? Did this help you? I would love to hear from you.
