Well Wishes for Pals Paper Arts

I am sure I am not alone in ditching elements you thought would look great on a card but then decide not to use them. I put all those abandon misfit pieces into a small storage container on my craft table. Then I get this crazy idea that I should do something with some of those abandon pieces. (I am humming in my head the holiday song the island of misfit toys from Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.) Well, this is what I decided to use to create my card for the Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge this week; elements from my misfit container.

Here is the sketch this week. Our hostess is Nicole Watt who is the talented graphic artist behind the Pals Paper Arts badges.

The color combination is Lost Lagoon, Delightful Dijon and Pool Party. I like the color combination however I am not thrilled with the card. I just could not seem to get all the pieces to tie together. I thought I would use it as a Get Well card.

StampinMojo

I do hope you will play along with the Pals Paper Arts team this week. It is always fun to challenge yourself to stretch your creativity.

As I was creating my post I really did not like the front of my card. So I pulled the flower off and added a different element. I like it better. What do you think?

Thanks for stopping by!

Some Mojo for the May Paper Pumpkin Kit

This month’s Paper Pumpkin was a fun kit to get creative and move beyond the instructions. I really got my StampinMojo going with this kit.

Alternative May Paper Pumpkin, StampinMojo

As you can see I used different colors and created cards for several different occasions.

May Paper Pumpkin Kit, StampinMojo

These two cards use only supplies from the kit and follow the instructions fairly closely. I did add ribbon to the one on the right which was not included in the kit. I love the geometric patterns.

May PP, StampinMojo

Okay I love this first card. SUPER easy and I think it is adorable. I have a dear friend who is fighting leukemia and I thought this would be a great card to brighten her day. The next one is my Father’s day card for my dad. I used the negative from the ‘happy sticker” and placed it over some new Dapper Denim card stock and then fussy cut the entire piece to add to the card. I have to thank a fellow Pal Michelle Quinno for the idea to use the negative of the stickers. Brilliant!

Father's Day card inside peek

I had to show you the inside of my Father’s Day card. The “Dad” came from the May PP stamp set and the rest of the sentiment from Suite Sayings. I am so happy this set is carrying over to the Annual Catalog.

Paper Pumpkin alternate ideas, StampinMojo

These two cards both have ribbon but the one on the right was jazzed up with flowers from Botanical Builder thinlits.

Happy Anniversary

This card is for my brother and his wife. They celebrate their anniversary this week. I think it is 27 or 28 years. Yikes that has flown by. The leaves are from Awesomely Artistic, the flowers from Petite Petals and the sentiment is from Timeless Love.

The inside sentiment is from Timeless Love and the glasses are from a retired set called Making Spirits Bright. I was very disappointed that this stamp set had such a short life, it is adorable.
