Friends, Flowers and a Swirly Scribble

StampinMojo, PPA#301, Swirly Scribbles Thinlits, Friends & Flowers

This week’s Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge is from the very creative Rae Harper. I had fun creating with these colors. I love Pool Party and Bermuda Bay together and the Crushed Curry is like adding a ray of sunshine to the mix.

PPA#301

I could have called this post Something Old and Something New because I have mixed it up with a little of both. I used the Large Polka Dot textured embossing folder which is carrying over to the new catty. I then used the NEW Swirly Scribbles Thinlits to add a splash of Bermuda Bay. The flower was created using the Friends & Flowers stamp set from the Occasions catalog that is only available through May 31st. This set coordinates with the Festive Flower Builder Punch which is carrying over. I love when I have more than one stamp set to use with a punch or set of Big Shot dies.

I used the Banner Framelits for the sentiment which came from the April Paper Pumpkin bonus stamp set. The center of the flower uses a pool Party button and a piece of Bermuda Bay 1/8″ Stitched Ribbon which is only available through May 31st.

I hope I got your mojo going to use these fun summer colors and play along with the Pals Paper Arts this week.

Thanks for stopping by!

I used washi tape on the inside of the card for a decorative edge.

A Little Love and Affection

StampinMojo, Love & Affection, Peekaboo Peach, Calypso Coral, Layering Squares FramelitsI am excited to show you more sneak peeks from the new annual catalog.  This card features the NEW In-Color called Peekaboo Peach. It is less pastel than the old Crisp Cantaloupe (which I like) and I love how it goes with Calypso Coral (one of my favorite colors). The focal point showcases the NEW Laying Squares Framelits and Love & Affection Stamp set.

The ribbon is retired Calypso Coral Ruffled Ribbon. And I used retired washi tape on the envelope. I want to share my awesome storage unit for washi tape that I got for Mother’s Day. Now I can see my washi tape and use it!

It is really for eyeglasses but it works fabulously for washi tape. Click here for the Amazon link.

Sneak Peek for Pals Paper Arts

The Pals Paper Arts is celebrating their 300th challenge this week with a great sketch by Sandie Conner. This is a sketch you can use over and over again.

PPA300, StampinMojoMy pre-order finally arrived last Wednesday. As they say, ‘the waiting is the hardest part”. I wanted to use the pineapple stamp from the NEW Pop of Paradise stamp set for a birthday card. The card was for a colleague whose birthday was last Wednesday but I told her she had to wait for the stamp set to come! I love how this turned out.

I stamped the pineapples in Versamark and heat embossed Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The photo does not capture the shimmer from the gold very well. The polka dot pattern DSP is from the NEW Pop of Pink Specialty Designer Series Paper. The “Specialty” designation is because there are two sheets of gold infused patterns; one is polka dots and one is confetti. LOVE!

This photo shows off the gold a bit better. It is stunning in person. Pineapples are on trend and Stampin’ Up! is right there delivering us the most up-to-date trends. You get a peek at the inside of the card. I ran a piece of retired gold dotted washi tape along the bottom of the card stock. It really pulls everything together.

I do hope you will play along with the Pals this week. It is such a fun sketch. Thanks for stopping by!

Project Life for Global Design Project

StampinMojo, GDP035, Project Life, Moments Like This

On Mother’s Day I lost myself in my craft room and worked on some memory keeping. In February my best friend of 40 years (can that really be true – Yikes!) came down for a visit. It was the first time we got to spend a week alone together in over thirty years. It was so good for both of us. Memory keeping allows me to re-live and cherish each moment shared all over again.

GDP 035I was thrilled when I saw the Global Design Team’s theme this week was Project Life. Here are some close up shots of my layout.

The bottom left corner shows Kathy stamping Bridal Shower invitations that we designed for her niece. I loved sharing my love of stamping with her!

We enjoyed champagne while watching the sunset and walked the beach early one morning to watch the sunrise. I will cherish the time we had together for months to come. Now I have my favorite photos captured to enjoy whenever I want.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope I inspired you to document some favorite memories. Thanks Global Design Team for featuring Project Life this week.
