In the Meadow

I had a lot of cards to create this past weekend as I was heading out of town to be with my dad for surgery he was having done. So I went to Pinterest for inspiration. I needed a masculine birthday card and saw this card by Julie Davison. I used some of her elements and added some of my own.

StampinMojo, Maskuline card, In the Meadow

I am thrilled to see the In The Meadow stamp set carrying over to the Annual Catalog. YEAH!

I stamped the mountains twice so it looks like one mountain range, even though you can’t see it under the stand of trees. I stamped the mountains and the trees in Tip Top Taupe. The greenery was created using a Blender Pen and Old Olive ink.It was fun to just swirl the ink and go totally outside the lines.

The color palette is Tip Top Taupe, Sahara Sand, Old Olive and Whisper White.

StampinMojo, In The Meadow, Happy Birthday Everyone

I LOVE the inside of this card. I repeatedly stamped the small grasses along the bottom of the Sahara Sand card stock. The big Happy Birthday sentiment is from Happy Birthday Everyone and is only available until June 1st as a Hostess set.

Enjoy your day and be creative today.

For the Adventurer

I am always thrilled to see people follow their dream. A woman who has been doing my hair for the last two years purchased an old RV and has been refurbishing it. Two weeks ago she quit her job (yes, I need to find a new hairstylist) and is going to take a year and see the United States. She has been saving up for this big adventure. I wanted to give her a journal to capture her travels along the way. Of course the journal must be accompanied by a card.

I had created the journal book using Farmers Market DSP. I have loved every pattern in this DSP and will be sad to see it retired. The Botanical Builder Framelits added the pizzazz to the journal book. The color palette is Very Vanilla, Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler and Gold Glimmer. I love it so much I may make another for me.

The Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge this week was my inspiration for the card.

Let’s take a closer look at the card.

The Brick Wall Textured Embossing Folder added texture to the card. I lightly sponged Crumb Cake ink onto the bricks so they look a bit weathered. The Adventure Begins is from the You’re so Lovely stamp set and is the perfect sentiment for my card. I am sad to see this stamp set retiring. You can count on it staying in my stamp collection.

The journal book is simply a composition book from Office Depot. I tend to buy these in bulk during the back to school sales. I use up old DSP and donate the books to the local Shelter for Abused Women. I cover the inside covers with solid card stock to hide the periodic table of elements or metric conversion charts. My Project Life Corner Rounder allows the card stock to mirror the corners of the journal.

I hope I got your creative mojo going with my project today. Don’t forget to stop over and see what the Pals Paper Arts design team did with this sketch.

Zoo Babies Goes Wild

A quick post today to share another baby card. This time for a sweet baby boy.

StampinMojo, Zoo Babies, Go Wild DSP

Here is another baby card using Zoo Babies which retires on June 1st. I am going to keep this set in my stamp stash as it is one of my favorite sets. My card was inspired by a card from Amy Koenders, Stampwithamyk. The Go Wild DSP is the perfect compliment to the zoo babies, don’t you think?

The color palette is soft with Tip Top Taupe, Whisper White and Soft Sky.

The inside sentiment is from the retired set Baby, You’ve Grown. I don’t have to create a lot of baby cards (except for recently) so I hang on to my baby stamp sets a bit longer than others.

Thanks for stopping by.

Zoo Baby Congratulations

StampinMojo, Michelle Gleeson, Made with Love, Zoo Babies

A soft and sweet baby card to welcome a new baby into the world. This past week three colleagues had babies. This is on the heel of two colleagues that just came back from maternity leave. We are joking around about not drinking the water due to the prolific nature of our staff these days.

The color palette used was Pink Pirouette, Wild Wasabi, and Pool Party.  And the elephant is Archival Basic Grey.

The sentiment was heat embossed in white on Pool party card stock and punched out with the Washi Tape Punch which is now sold out.

The bakers twine was from my 2015 Sale-A-Bration stash.

StampinMojo, Made With Love, Zoo Babies,

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are having a wonderful weekend.
