Watercolor Happy Birthday

StampinMojo, Watercolor Words, PPA 297, Birthday Card

I had an entirely different card that I created for this week’s PPA Color Challenge, When I went to write my post I realized I used the wrong colors! Back to my craft table I went.

This week Jackie Diediker is our hostess. She created a bright spring based color palette for us.

PPA 297, Jackie Diekaker

Perhaps because I was heading back to the drawing board I struggled with this palette.

Here is how my StampinMojo came together…

I took out the three ink pads and laid them on the table. I decided to use Wisteria Wonder as my base. Then I pulled out a piece of Daffodil Delight DSP from the Brights Designer Series Paper Stack. I liked the sharp contrast between the yellow and the purple. The Watercolor Words stamp set seemed to coordinate well with the whimsy of the polka dots so I stamped the small flower in Wisteria Wonder on Wisteria Wonder card stock and using clear emboss powder heat embossed the flower. This made it easier to fussy cut the flowers. Now I just needed to figure out how to bring the Pool Party onto the scene. All I needed was a little splash so I decided to frame my sentiment. I like how the pop of Pool Party makes the sentiment dance on the card.

Don’t forget to head over to Pals Paper Arts to see what the other designers did with this color palette. We would love to see you play along as well.

Thanks for stopping by. Stop back on Sunday and you can see the first card I made with the wrong color palette.

A Rosy Thank You

StampinMojo, Thank you card

A clean and simple thank you card. The background was stamped in SU Crushed Curry with an Impression Obsession stamp called Roses.

The card base is SU Garden Green. The banner was created using the SU Banner Framelits (third from the smallest). The sentiment was created using Technique Tuesday Say It – Thanks framelit. I loved the font.

I added three Crushed Curry Enamel Dots from It’s My Party Enamel Dots set. I hope they have more Enamel Dots in the new catalog.

StampinMojo, thank you card

The inside of the card showcases the Simon Says Stamp Single Roses framelits. I found these when I was looking for the roses background and had to have them.

I hope you enjoyed this splash of spring. The new catalog was released to demonstrators yesterday and my wish list is a mile long, as usual.

Thanks for stopping by. Be sure to stop back on Thursday to see the latest Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge.

StampinMojo, Thank you.

Black and White Birthday Wishes

StampinMojo, Birthday, Petite Pennants Builder

There is nothing more classic than black and white together. It can be elegant or whimsical but it always looks smashing.

This card is super easy to whip up and allows you to use up some of the those scraps that you save because we all know we can’t waste any of our DSP! I used the Neutrals DSP Stack. Everyday Chic DSP would also look stunning.

I used the retired Petite Pennants Builder. You could also cut rectangles and then simply cut on the diagonal. See we are using that old geometry lesson.

Basic Pearl Jewels “tie” the pennants together. I used retired 1/8″ Black Ribbon. This would like just as pretty using the current 1/8″ Silver ribbon.

The sentiment is from Build a Birthday Stamp Set.

And of course I decorated the inside of the card using Glimmer Washi Tape from Sale-a-Bration.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a fabulous weekend.

Timeless Elegance Sympathy for PPA 296

StampinMojo, PPA296, Timeless Elegance, DSP, Sympathy card

Soft and elegant sympathy card using this weeks Pals Paper Arts Sketch by my dear friend and SU demonstrator Susan Itell.

PPA296 by Susan Itell

I used all the elements in Susan’s sketch with a touch of creative liberties. I cut the Chalk Talk Framelits tag from a piece of subtle patterned Timeless Elegance DSP for the large rectangle. The circle is represented by a flower that I fussy cut from a different piece of Timeless Elegance DSP. I love my paper snips! And the thin vertical rectangle represents my Washi Tape Punch sentiment. The sentiment is from the retired stamp set Bloom with Hope.

I unfortunately needed a sympathy card to send to a long time friend who tragically lost her son in a motorcycle accident. My heart breaks for her family. We have experienced too many losses of young lives from motorcycle accidents.
