You Make My Heart Happy

StampinMojo, Michelle Gleeson, PPA291, Birthday Blossoms, Lovely Amazing You

Happy Thursday! Today we launch another Color Challenge over at Pals Paper Arts. This week the very talented Mary Fish is our hostess. I was very challenged by the colors Mary gave us.

PPA-291-Mar10

I love all these colors however I struggled not having Watermelon Wonder and Cucumber Crush over taking the design and losing poor Pool Party. I spent several hours on one design that I finally gave up on. I am super pleased I kept at it and came up with this card.

StampinMojo, PPA291, Michelle Gleeson

The flowers are from Birthday Blossoms I lightly added color to the flowers with my aqua painter. [Note: I use 91% Isopropyl Alcohol rather than water. It evaporates quickly leaving only the color behind.] The center of each flower was colored with a Watermelon Wonder Stampin’ Writer Marker. Then I dotted each center with Crystal Effects. That is why there is a shiny finish.

The sentiment is from the Lovely Amazing You Photopolymer Stamp set. I love this font. I hope they use it again!

Then my Tags & Labels Framelits gave me the perfect frame for my sentiment.

Did you notice the soft detail in the white corners? My Simply Scored Board made that a cinch.

In the end my card is clean and simple. I think it showcases all three colors well and no color is overpowering the others. What do you think? I love hearing from you.

Check out what the other Pals Paper Arts designers did with these colors.

Spring has Sprung Pals Blog Hop – March 2016

2016badge-watermelon

Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for March 2016. We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our new 2016 Blog Hop monthly themes.  This month we are featuring Spring and Spring related projects. We hope you enjoy our creations.

You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from the previous link from the Line-up on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below.  The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you may see all the projects.

March 2016 Blog Hop, StampinMojo, Easter Lamb, All Boxed Up Kit

A couple of quick adorable treat holders to create as favors at your dinner table, a little something for co-workers, or the little peeps in your family.

These are made easy by using the All Boxed Up Kit. The kit contains 10 of these treat boxes and then goodies to accessory them with. I used the Pool Party pompom trim, baker’s twine and the cute clothespin that comes with the kit on the pink version.

I stamped the Easter Lamb stamp on (retired) Natural White card stock. I will use Whisper White Thick card stock or the rest as I think it will look brighter. Then using my Aqua Painter (filled with 91% Isopropyl Alcohol) and a bit of ink on the top of my ink pad (obtained by just squeezing the ink pad before opening it) I lightly colored the lamb with Smokey Slate ink. My Blushing Bride and Wild Wasabi Stampin’ Write Markers added a bit of color. Then I cut him out using a framelit from the Ovals Collection Framelits.

I masked the bottom of the lamb and stamped the sentiment on a scrap of Blushing Bride card stock. Using the banner from Large Numbers Framelits Dies I cut out the sentiment to adhere over the sentiment stamped with the lamb.

After I put this box together I created a handle by using the Word Window punch. Then I tied the Watermelon Wonder 1″ Stitched Satin Ribbon through the handle to keep it closed. This lamb was outlined with Smokey Slate watercoloring for a different look. This time I cut out my Easter Lamb with a circle from the Circle Collection Framelits and followed the same process as above  to create a coordinating banner in Watermelon Wonder card stock.

I still make Easter Baskets from our sons (22 and 20). The little bunny is something I purchased to go in their baskets. He is from the Velveteen Rabbit, a classic story that reminds us of the power love. I hope you enjoyed today’s project, which box do you like better?

Thanks for visiting. To continue with the hop, please refer to the Blog Hop Line-up below. We hope to see you on next month’s Pals Blog Hop!

Fancy Fold card for Pals Paper Arts

I have been busy with visitors the last few weeks leaving me very little time to craft. Today I want to share a card I made for the Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge. Here is the sketch by Patti MacLeith:

PPA-290-Mar03

There is a lot going on with the sketch so I decided to create a special fold card where the line is shown. Let’s take a peek…

StampinMojo, Michelle Gleeson, Flower Shop, #imbringingbirthdaysback

First I flipped the sketch clockwise 90°. The large flowers are from the Flower Shop stamp set and small flower is from Petite Petals. The small flower is used to tuck the flap of the card and keep it closed.  The DSP is from the Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stack. The sentiments are from the Birthday Blossoms Stamp Set.

I wanted to show you the inside  of the card as well as how it opens. It is fun to experiment with different folds. The finished card measures 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″.

Don’t forget to stop over at the Pals Paper Arts site and see what the design team did with this sketch. Amazing talent among the Pals.

Flowering Fields Birthday Wishes

Flowering Fields, Birthday, StampinMojo

We all look for creative inspiration. It can come from catalogs, nature, and of course our favorite – Pinterest. I love to capture cards I like for future inspiration. This card was originally created by The Maui Stamper and I had to CASE (Copy And Share Everything) it. I thought about another color palette but I was so in love with the original I simply copied away.

I had ordered the two stamp sets that are the stars of the card – Timeless Textures and Flowering Fields back in December and this is the first time I am inking them up. UGH, this time of year my real job gets in the way of creative time. Back to the card…

I want you to have the dimensions so you can CASE away too if you want.

Very Vanilla card base 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″

Sahara Sand base – 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″

Rectangles 1 1/8″ x 1 3/8″

Sentiment 1/2″ x 3 5/8″

Each flower was simply colored with Stampin’ Write Markers. I used So Saffron, Crushed Curry, Pear Pizzazz and Old Olive. The flowers were stamped in Soft Suede and the textures were stamped using Sahara Sand.

Flowering Fields, StampinMojo

A peek at the inside of the card reveals more flowers sprouting!

I hope you are inspired to create today. If you have any questions just send me an email.

Thanks for stopping by! Don’t forget it is Tuesday and that means new Weekly Deals!
