One Big Meaning

As a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator I receive a quarterly publication called Stampin’ Success. It is filled with inspiration on how to use stamp sets, accessories and tools. This quarter’s magazine was brimming with beautiful card and gift ideas. The cover had four cards using the stamp set called One Big Meaning. So I CASE’d (Copy And Selectively Edited) one of the cards.

StampinMojo, One Big Meaning, Bold Butterfly Framelits, Watercolor Wings

I love this monochrome color combination – Soft Sky, Pool Party, Lost Lagoon, and Island Indigo. The background  was created by stamping the dots from Watercolor Wings in Soft Sky ink on Soft Sky card stock. The butterflies were cut using the Bold Butterfly Framelits. The sentiment is from One Big Meaning and I simply masked each line with retired washi tape to get the two different color inks for the sentiment.

Here is the same card in another color palette.

This palette is Wisteria Wonder, Perfect Plum, Elegant Eggplant, Blackberry Bliss. I don’t know which color palette I like more.

I hope I inspired you to create today. All these items can be purchased through the StampinMojo online store.

Awesomely Artistic Bouquet

StampinMojo, PPA292, Awesomely Artistic

Nature always gives us perfect color combinations. Here in Southwest Florida trees are blooming with beautiful pink and purple flowers surrounded by lush green leaves. This inspired the color combination for this weeks Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge by the very talented Beth Beard.

By Beth Beard

Beth gave us a challenging sketch. I tried to stay somewhat true to the sketch. I intended on adding the top panel however I was so pleased with the result without it, I decided less is more.

The flowers were outlined in Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive Stampin’ Write Markers and then filled in using a blender pen and coordinating ink pads.  Here is a close up look:

Basic Pearl Jewels were the perfect finishing touch as the flower centers.

Park Lane Congratulations

StampinMojo, Park Lane DSP, Paper Pumpkin, Rose Garden Thinlits

We all have our favorite Stampin’ Up! colors. The colors we use again and again. Today I grabbed some retired DSP to use a different set of colors than I normally do – Rich Razzleberry and Daffodil Delight.

The flowers came from the Rose Garden Thinlit Dies (140619) then I punched out 1/2″ circle punch (119869) to put under the flower to have the center of the flower look similar to the DSP.

The sentiment is from one of my Paper Pumpkin kits. They use some fabulous fonts on the stamps with the kits. Love them! Then the sentiment was cut out using another framelit from the Rose Garden Thinlit collection.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you were inspired to use some of your DSP stash and some colors you don’t usually use.

Polka Dot Birthday

StampinMojo, Birthday card, Color Combination

Happy Monday! Was today tough getting out of bed or what?  The first few days after we turn the clocks ahead are brutal. I usually get up at 4:50 a.m. (I know it is a crazy hour) so when we move the clocks ahead I feel like I am up in the middle of the night. Actually I am! We will adapt, we always do.

Today’s card is quick and easy. I was inspired by cards I have seen on Pinterest in a variety of color combinations. My card is a combination of Mint Macaron, Tip, Top Taupe, and Whisper White.

I am still learning how to create my unique color combination palettes for you. I am working on it! Stay tuned as I work on mastering this skill in photoshop.

Back to the card. I used the It’s My Party DSP as my background. The banner was created with the Banner Framelits and the 2015-2017 In Color DSP. The decorative element is a layer of Tip Top Taupe 1 1/4″ Scallop circle (punch), followed by 3/4″ Circle (punch) of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper, and topped off with the 1″ Circle (punch) of Mint Macron with the heart from Itty Bitty Punch Pack.

I didn’t want to waste my heart punches so I added them to the inside.
