Masculine Birthday Card for Sunday Stamps

Masculine Birthday Card, StampinMojo, Tin of Cards, Sunday Stamps

This masculine birthday card was inspired by the Sunday Stamps sketch challenge.

Sunday Stamps Sketch

I decided to use the flap in the design to create a unique trifold card. The DSP is from the new Have a Cuppa DSP stack. The design uses Bermuda Bay and Basic Gray, a great combination for a masculine card.

The balloon was cut out with the Balloon Framelits after heat embossing the sentiment from the Tin of Cards stamp set with Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder.

Note that I cut out two balloons so that I could “hide” the balloon string when the card opened up. The inside sentiment is from the Perfect Pennants stamp set.

A Little Love for Freshly Made Sketches

It was a crazy week for me and I found solace in my craft room on Saturday. I fell in love with this week’s sketch from Freshly Made Sketches. Let’s take a peek.

FMS image

I thought it would be fun to create a Valentine card with non-traditional colors for the sketch. I started with the Stampin’ Up! Crumb Cake Note Cards and Envelope set. Then I added a piece of Tip Top Taupe card stock 1/8″ smaller than the note card (5″ x 3 1/5″). The next layer is Whisper White card stock where I began I stamping a heart from the Hello Life stamp set in Lost Lagoon.

Love, StampinMojo, FMS entryI stamped a few more of the same hearts on another sheet of whisper white card stock and then cut them out using the heart from the Circle Card Thinlit. I punched out hearts from Pool card and Lost Lagoon card stock.

The squiggles are from the Tin of Cards stamp set and the sentiment from Hello Life.

Let’s take a closer look at the hearts.

Love for FMS 2

I have really enjoy embellishing the inside of my cards…small little elements that tie the card together.

Love on the inside for FMS

This is probably the perfect card to send my dad for Valentine’s Day.

Love You Always!

StampinMojo, PPA, Love Blossoms DSP

This week the Pals Paper Arts hosts a sketch challenge.

PPA 284 Sketch

I have not been a big Rose Red fan but I really love it paired with Blushing Bride in the Love Blossoms DSP Stack. So I let the DSP be my inspiration for the sketch.

As I mentioned in my post on Sunday, I love this paper stack as most of the designs are small, and easy to work into a card or a 3D project. You can see how these two patterns go so well together. I stamped one of the images from the Blooming’ Love stamp set in Rose Red on the Rose Red card stock to create a background on the card stock. Without these images I thought the card stock looked stark with the DSP.

The vellum is from the Botanical Gardens Designer Vellum Stack which can be earned by spending $50 with Stampin’ Up! through March 31, 2016. All the items in the Sale-A-Bration catalog are FREE and not available for purchase.

The sentiment is from the Something To Say stamp set, another Fav of mine. I stamped the Love You in Versamark and heat embossed the White Stamping’ Emboss Powder. Then using my Stamp-a-ma-jig I stamped the Always in Versamark and repeated the process. The vellum then wraps around the back of the Rose Red card stock and adhered with Snail.

Can you see the tiny pearls I added to the flowers on the DSP in the circle. I die cut two flowers using the Blooming’ Heart Framelit Die and layered them for the final touch.

I was having so much fun with this DSP that I used it on the inside of the card as well.

StampinMojo, Valentine's Day

The sentiment on the inside is a stamp I purchased at our local Paper Source store. I rarely buy anything non-SU. I had purchased this last year when making valentine’s.

I hope you will stop by Pals Paper Arts to see what this week’s design team did with this sketch. Thank you for stopping by. If I can answer any questions let me know, I am only an email away.

Watercolor Wash Valentine

StampinMojo, Blooming' Heart, Watercolor Wash

This week the Global Design Project theme is Love.

GDP019So I created this fun Valentine. I have seen several cards with a beautiful watercolor wash as the background. I started out very light (mixing a lot of water from my aqua Painter with the ink). I wanted more punch of color behind the heart die cut so I dabbed my Aqua Painter in more ink.

The color palette is Watermelon Wonder, Blushing Bride and Whisper White.

I used Shimmery White card stock as it handles watercoloring well. I used my Heat Tool to ensure the card stock was dry before adhering it to the Watermelon Wonder base.

After adding the die cut flowers and their Rhinestone centers, I painted the heart die cut with the new Wink of Stella Clear pen. It added a shimmery sparkle to match the Shimmery White card stock.

Here is a closer look, can you see the shimmer created with the Wink of Stella? LOVE this new tool.

The banner is from the Blooming’ Love stamp set and it was cut out with the coordinating framelit from the Large Numbers Framelits Dies.

Are you working on your Valentine’s? How many do you need to create? I would love to hear from you.
