Hello♥ and happy Saturday. It is absolutely beautiful here in Southwest Florida and we are relishing it. We know the hot and humid summer is not far away.

I create this card for the Global DesignProject Challenge #81, This week is a color challenge;

GDP81 I chose Calypso Coral as my Free Choice for the challenge.

The center design element was created using the Flourish Thinlits Dies border die. Then I added to 1/2″ strips of Calypso Coral card stock to balance on either side of the die cut.

I love the sentiment font from a non-SU set called Hello 2016. I did cover the heart with glue from the Fine Tip Glue which created a glossy finish when it was dry. The sentiment was cropped using the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies. And a piece of Calypso Coral Thick Baker’s Twine provides the finishing touch.

Swirly Bird Birthday Card

Stampin Up Swirly Bird Pop of Pink DSP Birthday card Michelle Gleeson Stampinup

The Swirly Bird Photopolymer Stamp Set was flooding Pinterest and Instagram when it first came out. As with many things then our attention gets diverted to newer products and it falls off the radar. It remains one of my favorite sets.

The backdrop for the card is from Pop of Pink Designer Series Paper. This DSP is a classic with a Black, White and Melon Mambo color palette. Here I combined the black and white striped pattern with Flirty Flamingo.

The Flirty Flamingo panel is 2 1/5″ x 5 1/5″. Then the Whisper White panel is 2 1/4″ x 5 1/5″. The horizontal stripe is from Affectionately Yours Designer Washi Tape. Then I stamped the swirly flower in Watermelon Wonder and Flirty Flamingo in a random pattern and added leaves with Wild Wasabi ink.

The Flirty Flamingo 3/8″ Ruched Ribbon is wrapped around the Whisper White panel then mounted to the Flirty Flamingo card stock with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The sentiment is from Sunshine Sayings stamp set.

Rose Wonder

Stampin Up Rose Wonder Birthday card Michelle Gleeson Stampinup SU

I am very excited to share this card with you today. I want to share a technique that is super easy and creates a stunning result.

I stamped the large rose stamp from the Rose Wonder Photopolymer Stamp Set in Versamark and heat set it with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Watermelon Wonder card stock. Then I took my white colored pencil from the Watercolor Pencil set and lightly shaded the edges of the flower. I love the result.

I then stamped my sentiment from the Bunch of Blossoms Photopolymer Stamp Set and cropped it with the framelits from Stylish Stems Framelits Dies.

The green card stock is Certain Celery a retired color from several years ago.

I added water droplets on the rose with Nuvo Crystal Drops.

The 2015 – 2017 In-Colors will be retiring soon. So I am trying to use them so their retirement party won’t be so sad. I will miss Watermelon Wonder the most. I am not a pink kind of gal but love this shade of pink. Which color will you miss the most?

Did you see the bit of Mint Macaron Glimmer Paper. In person it is just the right amount of bling. ♥

This card is super simple. Here are the details.

  • Crumb Cake Card Base 4 1/4″ x 5 1/5″
  • Mint Macaron 4″ x 5 1/4″
  • Very Vanilla layer 3 3/4″ x 5″, embossed with the Festive Textured Embossing Folder
  • Mint Macaron Glimmer paper cut with scalloped square from the Layering Squares Framelits
  • Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla squares were also cut with the Layering Squares Framelits
  • Sentiment was stamped on the Very Vanilla square in Mint Macaron.
