When I first received Celebrations Duo Textured Embossing Folders I was a bit intimidated. I thought for sure that the ink would bleed into the “impression” created by the embossing process and I would have to do it just right to make it look great. I was SO wrong. It is so easy and so fun to create with these embossing folders.

The image is depressed into the paper. So when you stamp over the image it makes the words pop. I think this is one of the coolest stamping techniques.

I am one of those crafter’s that saves my DSP for that special card/project/scrapbook page. Really? It is such a crazy idea. So I am vowing to stop that crazy idea and actually use up all my DSP before the next catalog launch.

This card uses the Succulent Garden Designer Series Paper (DSP). It is one of my favorite designer series papers in the Occasions Catalog.

I know you love the details so here they are:

  • Card Base is 5 1/4″ square
  • Floral Succulent Garden DSP 5 1/8″ square
  • Tip Top Taupe layer 3 7/8″ square
  • Old Olive raindrop Succulent Garden DSP 3 3/4″ square
  • Tip Top Taupe layer 3 1/8″ square
  • Top layer 3″ square (Whisper White card stock with Tip Top Taupe ink stamping dots from Botanical Gardens stamp set randomly)

The dragonfly was stamped in Tip Top Taupe on vellum and then cut with the coordinating framelits after fully drying.

Stampin Up Blooms & Wishes Birthday Card Michelle Gleeson Stampinup SU

Sometimes it takes me a while to warm up to the In-Color collection. It certainly rings true for me with the 2016 – 2018 In-Color Collection and now I love the colors.

My card today is very simple. The base is Very Vanilla. The I took a piece of Peekaboo Peach card stock ( 5 1/4″ x 3) and randomly stamped the medium daisy flower from the Bloom & Wishes Photopolymer Stamp Set all over the card stock in Peekaboo Peach. Before adding the panel to the card I placed White Perfect Accents at the center of all the flowers and tied a piece of 1/4″ Natural Trim to the base of the card stock. The entire panel was then added to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The sentiment is also from the Blooms & Wishes Stamp Set and stamped in Peekaboo Peach.

A Mini Glue Dot under the bow knot keeps the ribbon right where I want it.

Stampin Up Celebrations Duo Embossing Folders Happy Celebrations Michelle Gleeson Stampinup SU

The Celebrations Duo Texture Impressions Embossing Folders create deep depressions in the card stock that allows you to stamp over the image for this crisp textured look. The technique is super easy with a WOW result.

Here are the details”

  • The card base in Calypso Coral is 6″ x 3 3/4″
  • The next layer of Flirty Flamingo card stock is mounted on Stampin’ Dimensionals and measures 5 1/2″ x 3 3/8″
  • The image layer was embossed with Thick Whisper White card stock is 4 7/8″ x 3 5/8″
  • After embossing the card stock with the Celebrations Duo Embossing Folder I stamped the splash image from Happy Celebrations Photopolymer Stamp Set in Calypso Coral to the bottom half of the embossed image and then stamped the image again in Flirty Flamingo to the top half of the embossed image overlapping the color slightly.

  • I washed the inked area with Clear Wink of Stella for a sparkly finish. You can see it a bit in this photo.
  • The image layer was added to the Flirty Flamingo layer with multipurpose glue.
  • A few Metallic Enamel Shapes and the card was finished.

Stampin Up Happy Celebrations Envelope Punch Board Michelle Gleeson Stampinup SU

  • The Envelope Punch Board allowed me to create a coordinating envelope for my odd sized card. I wanted to create an envelope that was 4 1/$ x 6 1/4 because of the thickness of the card. So I cut my 2016-2018 In-Color Envelope Paper to 8 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ then scored at 3 1/2″. The envelope easily accommodates the thickness of my card.
