Birthday Wishes with Sparkle

GDP093 Concordand9th Floral Fill in Stencils and DSP SU In-Colors Birthday card Michelle Gleeson

Today I am playing the Global Design Project Challenge #093. It is a color challenge with some very bright colors, check it out.

The focal point of the card is Concord & 9th’s Floral Fill-in Patterned Paper. The paper is unique as it has openings in the print that coordinate with a set of stencils. One stencil provides the outline and a second stencil provides the details. I used the outline stencil to blend Berry Burst for the background/base of the flower. Then I used the detailed stencil to add more Berry Burst ink.

Next I went back to the outline stencil and smooshed (a very crafty word) Versamark over the flowers followed by Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder. After heat setting the embossing powder I blended the Pool Party and Lemon Lime Twist ink over the rest of the patterned paper.

Then using the detailed stencil I added Stampin’ Embossing Paste and sprinkled it with fine glitter. In the photo above you can see the shine from the heat embossed flower bases and a little bit of the glitter.

The sentiment is from the Stampin’ Up! Lemon Zest stamp set and it was embossed in White Embossing Powder on Basic Black card stock.

The focal point was mounted on Thick Whisper White card stock to give it more weight then mounted with Stampin’ Dimensionals on a standard 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ Pool Party card stock base.

A few drops of Key Lime Nuvo Jewel Drops were added over the dots on the patterned paper to add even more shine.

I feel I showcased the color palette fully!

I Love You to the Moon

Stampin Up Embossing Paste Silver Wink of Stella Mommy Lhey Designs Hello 2016 love card idea Michelle Gleeson StampinMojo

My favorite children’s book is Guess How Much I Love You? by Sam McBratney. It so beautifully represents to our children how much we love them. To this day it makes my heart swell as I read each word.

When I want to let one of my twenty-something sons know I miss them and love them, I use this phase I love you to the moon and back. So when I saw this stamp in this fabulous font by Mommy Lhey Designs I HAD to have it.

Using my new Stampin’ Embossing Paste and a retired stencil (Hearts & Stars Decorative Masks) I created the starts on Basic Black card stock. The Stampin’ Up! Embossing Paste dries quickly which I love so I was able to then paint each star with Silver Wink of Stella for the glistening starry sky effect.

I heat embossed the sentiment in Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder and then framed the sentiment with Silver Foil Sheet card stock then mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I would love to know; What is your favorite children’s book?

I apologize for the poor photo. I wanted to get the card out and took a couple of quick pics before putting it int he mail. I hope it inspires you nonetheless. Thanks for stopping by.

Just Breathe

Stampin Up Colorful Seasons Just Because cards Michelle Gleeson Stampinup SU

I was trying to get my creative juices flowing one evening last week and started with three favorite colors Dapper Denim, Bermuda Bay and Pool Party. Using my Sponge Brayer, if you have not yet tried these brayers they are the bomb, I rolled the ink on my card front until I obtained the depth of color I wanted.

With each color the card became more soothing to me. At that point I knew I needed to heat emboss this sentiment in its beautiful font in Silver. A few “dew drops” with Crystal Effects and the card was complete.

I love the simplicity of this card. I am at a place in my life with a lot of disruption and stress. This card brought me a quiet peace and reminded me to “Just Breathe”. I may just keep this in my planner.

Happy Father’s Day

Stampin Up TTTC002 Pinewood Planks Eastern Beauty Bundle Michelle Gleeson Stampinup SUMy Father’s Day card was inspired by the Tic Tac Toe Challenge this week.

I chose the far right column Wood-Yellow-Embellishment for my inspiration. I started with a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Crumb Cake card stock and ran it through my Big Shot using the new Pinewood Plank Textured Embossing Folder. This folder provides deeper impressions.  I spritz a few drops of water on the card stock before embossing it to loosen up the paper fibers and the result is fabulous.

Then I lightly tapped my Early Espresso ink pad on the embossed card stock to bring out the wood texture. So easy and I love the effect.

The Eastern Beauty Bundle made creating the handsome embellishment a cinch. Using three Eastern Medallions Thinlits I cut the designs. The bottom medallion was stamped with small flourishes in Crushed Curry ink. The top medallion has a sticker from the Eastern Gold Vinyl Sticker pack. A 1/2″ circle was punched out in Early Espresso  card stock and then topped with a Crushed Curry Glitter Enamel Dot to add the finishing touch to the embellishment.

The inside of the card carries my father’s day sentiment from the retired Nailed It stamp set. I stamped the bottom corner with a medallion from Eastern Beauty stamp set to carry the design from the front of the card. The envelope was jazzed up with a piece of retired Moroccan DSP.

I hope you enjoy your Father’s Day.

Cheers,

Michelle
